[edit] Origin of the Hudnar
The Hudnar were genetically engineered by the Kruktur in the year -32. No one is certain as to the purposes that the Kruktur had in mind for the Hudnar, but they have been the Kruktur's favored species in the universal chain since that time.
[edit] The Hudnar Species
The Hudnar are bipedal, and adults are usually slightly over two metres in height. Their skin is covered in a thin layer of brown fur, and they have four arms. Hudnar's snouts are elongated, and Hudnar have two eyes and four horns. Two flaps of skin, usually torn from intense combat, cover the ears of Hudnar.
[edit] Life Cycle
Modern Hudnar males live for several thousand years, though the first Hudnar typically lived to be two to three hundred. Hudnar females are short-lived, lasting only one to three years before death. At death, the females secrete a liquid from the palms of their hands. The males can produce a slightly different liquid at will. When the two fluids combine, they form an "egg," in which a Hudnar embryo develops for four months. After this time, the Hudnar emerges, typically around one metre in size. Hudnar females typically mature in one month and die several months or years later. Hudnar males mature more slowly, over fifty to one hundred years, but they reach their full size at about ten years of age.
[edit] Hudnar Culture
The Hudnar are a very war-oriented species, and almost all male Hudnar are in the Hudnar military. Hudnar are very obedient to their military commanders and, above all, to the Zahudnar.
[edit] Hudnar Clans
The Hudnar are divided into groups called "clans," which are each descended from several of the first Hudnar. The clans were supposedly organized by the Kruktur, and each Kruktur is credited with the creation of one clan. Perhaps the most famous clan is the Ak clan, which was engineered by Zakruktur himself, and, according to Hudnar legend, "with his own blood." All Zahudnars have been part of this clan. However, only six have been from the Ak royal line. Clans were once divided into lines, which only the oldest male Hudnar child continued, but the Zahudnar Karkrukan replaced lines with "houses" in all lines but the royal line in 2311. Houses are continued by all male Hudnar children rather than just the oldest.
