Plot Summary

Following a similar plot to Oliver and Company, some things are different in the story, just like The Great Celestrian Observatory Detective and The Burg King.

Hui Zhong, a Chinese girl, is lost in the streets. She was the only orphan of her fellow orphans not to be adopted. Left alone in the rain in an orphanage, she escapes and lives in the streets. She then steals some hot dogs from Burg with the help of Sun Shang Xiang. Together they are successful, but Sun Shang Xiang then runs off, attempting to leave her behind.

Sun Shang Xiang eventually arrives at the houseboat of her friend, Stahn Aileron, along with her meal, to share with her friends: Kira Daidohji, Pillow Featherbed, Alouette, and Gil Wood. Hui Zhong sneaks into their home, located below the city's docks, and is discovered by the group. Stahn, a friend of the group, comes in and explains that he is running out of time to repay the money he borrowed from Wander McMooch, a toad-like shipyard agent and ruthless loan shark. Then, McMooch and his raccoon twin friends, Lifty and Shifty, arrive.

While Lifty is sniffing around the barge, Shifty flirts with Alouette. When Kira tries to attack him; after Shifty threatens Gil Wood after he insulted him, he is held back by Pillow, who tells him to pick on somebody his own size, but Shifty is not intimidated by her. He is then asked by Sun Shang Xiang whether he lost is sense of humor or not in reply, he smashes their television. It's then that Lifty finds Hui Zhong. She scratched his nose after Lifty attempts to eat her and both Lifty and Shifty intend to tear her apart when the gang gets between them. Before further violence can ensue, McMooch calls the twins back to his car, and they leave while making threats towards the gang and Hui Zhong.

After this, a soaking wet Stahn returns to the barge, lamenting that he has only three days to find the money he owes McMooch. He then discovers Hui Zhong, and considering that they all need help, accepts him into the gang.

The next day, Stahn sets out into the city with the gang and Hui Zhong. While he tries to sell his wares at a pawn shop, the group comes face-to-face with a limousine driven by a butler named Albert. Albert is employed by the exceedingly wealthy Nayvous family and is taking care of their daughter Swan while the couple is out of the country on business. The group then stages an elaborate ruse in order to get Albert out of the car. Kira and Hui Zhong slip in and attemmpt to steal its radio so as to give it to Stahn in order to sell it and earn some money in return as partial payment to McMooch. In doing so, Kira gets shocked by the electrical system, due to Hui Zhong's mishap, and Swan finds Hui Zhong tangles up in the wires near it. Hui Zhong then finds a good home and caring owner in Swan, to the chargin of Albert and her cousin, Etoile Rosenqueen.

The next day after that, while Swan is at school and at ballet practice, the group goes to Swan's house. After some initial disputes, Etoile is very happy that they are there to collect Hui Zhong, and helps them take her back, convincing them that she's ben traumatized by the whole experience and wants to go back to them. When Hui Zhong is taken back, Stahn sees Hui Zhong's new name necklace and the wealthy district she got it from, and sends Swan a map and a letter requesting "lots and lots of money" as a ransom. He then goes to convince McMooch that his plan will work. While he intends only to ransom Hui Zhong, McMooch believes that he is "thinking big" in an attempt to kidnap and ransom Swan, and gives him 12 more hours.

Swan then recieves the letter and takes Etoile with her to go and get Hui Zhong back, but Stahn's poorly drawn map leaves them both totally lost, although they do unknowingly arrive at their destination. Being distraught that her "wealthy sister-owner" is just a little girl with her piggy-bank, Stahn decides that he might as well return Hui Zhong to her, and pretends to find her in a dumpster. However, McMooch, who was unknowingly watching the whole thing, then kidnaps Swan, intending to hold her for ransom to her wealthy parents, and tells Stahn to keep his mouth shut and to conside their account closed.

Stahn, who wasn't expecting McMooch to use him to perform and actual kidnapping, takes the gang and Etoile to McMooch's shipyard to rescue Swan, which the group, with Hui Zhong's help manage to do. However, an enraged McMooch, Lifty and Shifty chase them down the city streets and into the subway in his car intending to snatch Swan back. Lifty and Shifty are both then thrown onto the tracks in their fight with Hui Zhong and Sun Shang Xiang, and presumably killed. Swan is thrown onto the hood of McMooch's car and Stahn tries to snatch her back while the group (mostly Kira) drive. They then emerge onto a bridge, where McMooch's ar collides with a train and he is killed. Kira manages to steer Stahn's van onto one of the bridge's cables and they emerge unscathed.

The next morning, on January 22nd, Stahn and the entire group celebrate Swan's birthday party at her home. That same day, Albert receives a phonce call from Swan's parents in Rome saying that they will be back tomorrow, apparently earlier than expected. Stahn and the gang finally drive into the streets to make a new start while leaving Hui Zhong at her new home with Swan.

  • This is Wander McMooch's first appearance in a sasagirl movie spoof fanfic.
  • In sasagirl's version of a "Destiny Mode" game of an "Xtreme Legends" Dynasty Warriors game, it's revealed that Hui Zhong works alongside Sun Shang Xiang. She's also her commander.
  • This is the second time that the The Five Little Fraggles story has an appearance in this movie spoof fanfic, when Stahn reads to the entire gang before bedtime. This also marks another appearance of another Fraggle Rock literature story, The Adventures of Sir Hubris, as a book read by Alouette when she first appears.
  • Unlike Jenny who plays the piano, Swan plays the violin in this story.
  • Unlike Tito who is Mexican, he dances to the song Buscando Guayaba by Ruben Blades when he first appears. Also, Kira herself is not Mexican, and she also dances to the song Billie Jean by Michael Jackson when she first appears.
