Hurricane Bob was the second named storm, first hurricane, and first major hurricane of the 1979 Planet Ceres Atlantic hurricane season. Bob impacted the Carolinas, killing 25 people and causing moderate to severe damage when it struck as a major hurricane. Despite causing over $4 billion in damage when adjusted for inflation, the name Bob was not retired.
