[edit] Treatment
Chemotherapy (Kushner's P6)
Surgery
- Primary tumor removed, attached to colon and only a tiny bit remains. Tiny areas of concern remain on liver, spot on the colon, and a small area in pelvis.
Autologous Stem Cell Transplant
Radiation 20 sessions ( 4 weeks mon- fri not on weekends for 20 min.)
Maintenance medication: Celebrex (200mg taken twice a day) and Thalomid (aka Thalidomide - 100mg taken once a day - dosage to be increased as tolerated). Decision to give this was the hope that it may prevent the tumor from growing back. The plan to is take for 6 months to a year.
