Hyperspace
From Scratchpad
Hyperspace is an alternate "dimension" where a different set of laws of physics apply, allowing objects to travel faster than light. The Interuniversal Void is a part of hyperspace. Passage through hyperspace, however, is still not comparatively fast on a universal scale, due to the limitations of the different laws of physics. Hyperspace travel was discovered relatively early by most civilizations, but was later replaced by faster methods such as warpspace, wormhole travel, and tachyonization.
