Ignitus is the Fire Guardian who sent Spyro's egg away during the assault by the Dark Master. He then went into exile, his fellow guardians becoming kidnapped by the rogue dragon Cynder. Many years later, he came across the fully grown purple dragon and they took back the Dragon Temple from the Cynder's Baboon forces. Ignitus then taught Spyro the skills of Fire and helped him defeat Cynder.
