This page describes how inventing works in Akami.
[edit] Requirements
Inventing has few requirements to proceed.
- Materials
- Process machines
[edit] Materials
Inventing requires materials, though they could be anything. Each material has it's own properties that can be discovered through research. Once you've found a set of materials you would like to experiment with, you run them through various processing machines until you hopefully end up with a usable product.
[edit] Process Machines
Process machines are what refine the inventing materials into a product. In the beginning, there are only a few machines. This is what they are.
- Furnace
- Rollers
- Freezer
- Mold
[edit] Furnace
A furnace applies extreme heat to an object. This will destroy or alter items with a low resistance to heat.
[edit] Rollers
Rollers come in full machines. They will flatten a soft object or crush a brittle one. If it is too hard, then the object will be destroyed and you will have to pay a certain amount of money to repair the damaged machine.
[edit] Freezer
A freezer chills an object below freezing. This will sometimes cause brittleness of the item, or make it shatter or explode from expanding water.
[edit] Mold
A mold is what allows you to shape a soft object to the shape you want it to become. If the object is too hard, it will be destroyed. Molds are made using a basic depth and shaping tool.
