It's Good To Be Free is the third episode of the fifth season.

  • This is the episode where we focus on Lexi and her mean friends.
  • Schemer and Schemee mention their mother and father.
  • Henry's Special Coal is given the UK title in the end credits.
  • Also, during this, Marion Raven's We Are W.I.T.C.H. plays.
  • Suzi is revealed to have McGee as her foolish brother.
  • It's Great To Be An Engine has no lyrics (like in the VHS version of Make Someone Happy).

  • (We open this episode with the Britt Allcroft Presents logo)
  • (We are then followed by the Shining Time Station theme song)
  • Man: Reach for the steam, reach for the whistle, going the railing road. Reach for the words, reach for the story, follow the rainbow sun. To a Shining Time Station, where dreams can come true, waiting there for you.
  • (The episode then opens with Stacy checking on all of the schedules)
  • Stacy: Harry and Billy, the schedules are messed up for now.
  • Harry: What do you mean messed up?
  • Billy: We're not letting everyone down.
  • (The Mean Girls arrive)
  • Lexi: Hi, Stacy, hi, Harry, hi, Billy.
  • Fiona: We're pleased to see you.
  • Stacy: Oh, hi there, ladies.
  • Harry: What are you doing in here?
  • Billy: Are you having free time?
  • Rogue: Exactly.
  • Mel: Everyone has to do the right choice.
  • Brittany: It's a good thing we're working here.
  • Zuzu: Making money for the poor people.
  • Mackenzie: Sometimes, we do get along.
  • Malinda: That is why we want to work as a team.
  • Suzi: Participating is also our duty.
  • Samantha: What we do like is the way people get rich.
  • Stacy: Oh, that's nice of it.
  • Harry: You girls can be workers.
  • Billy: We'll be counting on you.
  • Lexi: We will.
  • (The Conductors appear)
  • Mr. Conductor 1: It seems like you're history.
  • Fiona: So you're Mr. Conductors 1 and 2.
  • Rogue: Can you guess it? We're helping homeless people.
  • Mr. Conductor 2: Interesting. What you need is to have free time.
  • Mel: Yes!
  • Brittany: Totally!
  • Zuzu: Have you heard about Henry?
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Certainly, Zuzu. He got coal to be filled. Let me explain.
  • (Mr. Conductor 1 blows his whistle and Henry's Special Coal starts)
  • Mr. Conductor 1: One morning, Henry was feeling very sorry for himself. Sometimes he can pull trains, but sometimes he felt he had no strength at all.
  • Henry: I suffer dreadfully and no one cares.
  • James: Rubbish, Henry!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Snorted James.
  • Henry: You don't work hard enough!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Sir Topham Hatt spoke to him too.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: What's wrong with you, Henry? You have lots of new parts and new paint too, but they've done you no good. If we can't make you better, we must get another engine instead of you to do the work.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: This made Henry, his driver and fireman very sad. Sir Topham Hatt was waiting when Henry came to the platform. He had taken off his hat and coat and put on overalls. Henry managed to start but his fireman was not satisfied.
  • Henry's Fireman: Henry is a bad steamer.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: He said to Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Henry's Fireman: I built up his fire, but it doesn't give enough heat.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Henry tried very hard, but it was no good. He didn't have enough steam, and came to a stop outside Edward's station.
  • Henry: Oh dear!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Thought Henry.
  • Henry: I shall have to go away! Oh dear, oh dear!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: All he could do is to go slowly onto a siding, and Edward took charge of the train. Sir Topham Hatt and the Fireman went on discussing Henry's troubles.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: What do you think is wrong, fireman?
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Asked Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Henry's Fireman: Excuse me, sir.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: He answered.
  • Henry's Fireman: But the fact is the coal was wrong. We've had a poor lot lately, and today's it's worse. The other engines can manage. They had big fireboxes. Henry's is small and can't make the heat. With Welsh coal, he'd be a different engine.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: It's expensive.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Henry: But Henry must have a fair chance. James shall go and fetch them.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: When the Welsh coal came, Henry's Driver and Fireman were excited.
  • Henry's Driver and Fireman: Now we'll show 'em, Henry old fellow.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: They carefully made his fire, putting large lumps of coal like a wall round the outside, then the glowing middle part was covered in smaller lumps.
  • Henry: You're spoiling my fire.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Complained Henry.
  • Henry's Fireman: Wait and see.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Said the fireman.
  • Henry's Fireman: We'll have a roaring fire just when we wanted.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: The fireman was right. When Henry reach the platform, the water was boiling nicely, and he had to let off steam.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: How are you, Henry?
  • Henry: Peep, peep, peep! I feel fine!
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Have you a good fire, driver?
  • Henry's Driver: Never better, sir, and plenty of steam.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: No record breaking.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Warned Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Don't push him too hard.
  • Henry's Driver: Henry won't need pushing, sir. I'll have to hold him back.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Henry had a lovely day. He had never felt so well of his life. He wanted to go fast, but his driver wouldn't let him.
  • Henry's Driver: Steady old fellow.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: He would say.
  • Henry's Driver: There's plenty of time.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: They arrived early at the station. Thomas puffed in.
  • Henry: Where have you been, lazybones?
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Asked Henry.
  • Henry: Oh, I can't wait for dawdling tank engines like you. Goodbye.
  • Thomas: Whoosh!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Said Thomas to the coaches.
  • Thomas: Have you ever seen anything like it?
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Both Annie and Clarabel agreed that they never had.
  • (Henry's Special Coal ends)
  • Mr. Conductor 1: So remember, Henry had lots of coal here.
  • Mackenzie: That's absolutely correct.
  • Malinda: You'd be leaving, huh?
  • The Conductors: Yep.
  • (As the Conductors disappear, Schemer and Schemee arrive with packages of food)
  • Schemer: Coming through. We have packages of food for all homeless people.
  • Schemee: They're for sale.
  • Stacy: Schemer and Schemee, what are you two doing?!
  • Schemer: We're holding food here, Miss Jones.
  • Schemee: It'll be simple.
  • Lexi: Simple?! Pah!
  • Mel: You two don't even care anymore!
  • Harry: Oh great.
  • Billy: Here we go again.
  • (Inside the Arcade's jukebox)
  • Tito: Man, I wish there was free time.
  • Didi: Me too.
  • Tex: Why don't we perform It's Good To Be Home.
  • Rex: Good idea.
  • Grace: Tito will sing it in a lead.
  • Tito: Marvelous! A one, a two, a one, two, three, four.
  • (Tito sings It's Good To Be Home)
  • Tito: The magical things, The wonderful King, The adventures so far away. But it's good to be home With the friends that I know, It's a place that I want to stay It's good to be home, I'm never alone, When I got my own good friends beside me Wherever I go, I always know, My home is a castle to me It's good to be home, I'm never alone, When I got my own good friends beside me Wherever I go, I always know, My home is a castle to me Wherever I go, I always know, My home is a castle to me.
  • (It's Good To Be Home ends)
  • (Back with Lexi and the others, they are selling objects to the homeless people)
  • Lexi: Get your free toys anytime we want.
  • Fiona: Well, we've got some customers.
  • (Katie and Julianne Parker arrive)
  • Katie: I want a teddy bear.
  • Mel: Coming right up.
  • (She hands the teddy bear to Katie)
  • Katie: Thank you.
  • Julianne: Bye, girls.
  • Malinda: Come again soon.
  • (The Conductors reappear)
  • Mr. Conductor 1: You girls are doing a great job.
  • Zuzu: Oh yes we are.
  • Mr. Conductor 2: In the Anything Tunnel, all the engines are feeling proud. Come on.
  • (We zoom to the Anything Tunnel and It's Great To Be An Engine starts)
  • Children: (singing) Oh yes, it's great To be an engine And go steaming along, Puff puff puffing along, Peep peep peeping along. All the people waving As you speed along. Puff puff puffing along All day. We're all so proud to be Famous engines And travel through the countryside. We're always brave when There are hills to climb. No mountain is too high! Oh yes it's great To be an engine As you're steaming along. Puff puff puffing along, Peep peep peeping along. Fly along the rails as Your wheels go round Whiz whiz whizzing around All day. It doesn't matter Come rain or shine. There are always things For us to do. And in the cold cold Wintertime, We're ready. When you light the fire And stoke the boiler And we'll be there for you! Oh yes it's great To be an engine As you're steaming along. Puff puff puffing along, Peep peep peeping along. Feel the wind around you As you push along. Puff puff puffing along All day.
  • Girl: Just think - how wonderful it would be. To live on the magical Island of Sodor, Helping Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends All day long, It would be like a dream come true. If only I could be an engine too...
  • Children: (singing) Oh yes it's great To be an engine As you're steaming along. Puff puff puffing along, Peep peep peeping along. Fly along the rails as your Wheels go round. Whiz whiz whizzing around All day. Oh yes it's great To be an engine And go steaming along. Puff puff puffing along, Peep peep peeping along. All the people waving As you speed along. Puff puff puffing along, Peep peep peeping and Puff puff puffing Steam around all day!
  • (Thomas' whistle toots)
  • (It's Great To Be An Engine ends)
  • Mr. Conductor 2: As I said, all the engines can feel proud.
  • Suzi: That's good.
  • Samantha: We're glad Schemer and Schemee aren't seeing us.
  • Mr. Conductor 2: That's good.
  • Stacy: We all learn about having free time.
  • Harry: And we deserve it.
  • Billy: So, is Henry having a midnight run?
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Exactly, Billy. He got a journey in the night. Let me explain.
  • (Mr. Conductor 1 blows his whistle and The Flying Kipper starts)
  • Mr. Conductor 1: One winter evening, Henry's driver said...
  • Henry's Driver: We'll be out early tomorrow. We've got to take the Flying Kipper. Don't tell Gordon, but I think if we pull the Kipper nicely, Sir Topham Hatt will let us pull the express. The special coal they gave you is working well.
  • Henry: Hooray!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Cried Henry.
  • Henry: That will be lovely.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: All kinds of ships use the harbour at the big station by the sea. There are passenger ships, cargo ships and fishing boats also come here. They unload their fish on the key. Some of them goes the shops in the town, and the rest in a special train to other places far away. This is the train the railwaymen called the Flying Kipper. Henry was ready at 5:00. There was snow and frost. Men hustled and shouted loading up the crates of fish. The last door banged, the guard showed his green lamp, and the Flying Kipper was ready to go.
  • Henry: Come on, come on, don't be silly, don't be silly.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Puffed Henry to the freight cars. The cars shuttered and groaned.
  • Cars: Trickety-trock, trickety-trock, all right, all right!
  • Henry: That's better, that's better.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Puffed Henry. Cloud of smoke and steam poured from his funnel into the cold air, and the fire's light shown brightly.
  • Henry: Hurry, hurry, hurry!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Panted Henry. They were going well. The light grew better, signal light shown green as they passed. Then, a yellow signal appeard ahead. His driver prepared to stop, but the home signal was down.
  • Henry's Driver: All clear, Henry. Away we go.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: They couldn't know the switches from the main line to a siding were frozen, and a home signal should have been set a danger, but snow had forced it down. A freight train was waited in a siding to let the Flying Kipper past, and a Driver and Fireman were drinking cocoa in the caboose.
  • Conductor: The Kipper is due.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Said the conductor.
  • Fireman: Who cares?
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Said the Fireman.
  • Fireman: This is good cocoa.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: The driver got up.
  • Driver: Come on, fireman, back to our engine.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: They got out just in time.
  • (Crash!)
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Henry's driver and fireman had jumped clear before the crash, but Henry lay dazed and surprised. Sir Topham Hatt came to see him.
  • Henry: The signal was down, Sir.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Said Henry.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Cheer up, Henry. It wasn't your fault. Ice and snow cause the accident. I'm sending you to Crewe, a fine place for sick engines. They'll give you your new shape and a larger firebox. You'll feel a different engine, and you won't need special coal anymore. Won't that be nice?
  • Henry: Yes, sir.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Said Henry doubtfully. Henry liked being a Crewe, but was glad to come home. A crowd of people waited to see him arrive in his new shape. He looked so splendid and strong that they gave him three cheers.
  • Henry: Peep, peep!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: He whistled.
  • Henry: Thank you very much!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: I'm sorry to say that a lot of little children were often late for school, because they waited to see Henry go by. They often see him pulling the express. He does it so well that Gordon is jealous. But that's another story.
  • (The Flying Kipper ends)
  • Mr. Conductor 1: So that's why Henry had a new shape and a larger firebox.
  • Lexi: Interesting.
  • Fiona: You'd be leaving, right?
  • The Conductors: Yep.
  • (As the Conductors disappear, J.B. King arrives with Schemer and Schemee)
  • J.B. King: Well, what do we have here?
  • Stacy: It's Mr. King. I'm so glad to see you.
  • J.B. King: Miss Jones, I have heard that Lexi and the other girls have done a good job.
  • Schemer: Even me and Schemee.
  • Schemee: We couldn't have done it without all of you.
  • Lexi: Thanks a lot.
  • Mel: You know, it's good to be free together.
  • Brittany: As you wish.
  • (They both shake hands as we end this episode)
  • (We then find the outro with the train from the same opening)
  • (While the end credits roll, We Are W.I.T.C.H. plays)
  • Chorus: There is a place where darkness reigns. We've got the power to fight back. We save the day, united five as one.
