  • Alec Baldwin: It was a tingly spring morning on the Island of Sodor. Thomas was excited. Sir Topham Hatt had sent him to collect a special from Jenny Packard.
  • Miss Jenny: Spot on, Thomas!
  • Alec Baldwin: Miss Jenny said.
  • Miss Jenny: Ye'd make a mother proud!
  • Thomas: Thanks, Miss Jenny.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Thomas: Is this my special?
  • Miss Jenny: Very special.
  • Alec Baldwin: She answered.
  • Jack: I'm Jack the Front Loader.
  • Alec Baldwin: He whirred proudly.
  • Jack: I can load and unload and carry lots of things.
  • Thomas: I can haul and shunt.
  • Alec Baldwin: Boasted Thomas.
  • Miss Jenny: And i can get you two chatterboxes off to the quarry.
  • Alec Baldwin: Laughed Miss Jenny.
  • Thomas: Is this your first job at the quarry?
  • Alec Baldwin: Called Thomas.
  • Jack: It's my first job on the island!
  • Alec Baldwin: Jack called back.
  • Thomas: Look out for Max.
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas added.
  • Thomas: He's trouble.
  • Alec Baldwin: Soon, Thomas delivered Jack to the quarry. All the machines were busy preparing the site for new railway tracks. Jack couldn't wait to join in. He scooted towards a big excavator.
  • Jack: I'm Jack. Can i help?
  • Oliver: Oh my, no.
  • Alec Baldwin: Oliver replied kindly.
  • Oliver: Help Byron.
  • Alec Baldwin: Byron the Bulldozer was shoving rock and rubble with his giant blade.
  • Jack: I'm Jack. Can i help?
  • Byron: I don't need help.
  • Alec Baldwin: Boomed Byron.
  • Byron: Try Kelly the Crane.
  • Jack: I'm Jack.
  • Alec Baldwin: He whirred cheerfully.
  • Isabella: Mind my paint!
  • Alec Baldwin: Snapped the lorry.
  • Kelly: Isabella!
  • Alec Baldwin: Scolded Kelly.
  • Isabella: Sorry. Welcome to the pack.
  • Kelly: And if you want to work...
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Kelly.
  • Isabella: See the foreman.
  • Alec Baldwin: Isabella said cheekily.
  • Isabella: He's in charge.
  • Alec Baldwin: The foreman introduced Jack to his oiler.
  • Jack's Oiler: I'm here to help you work safely.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said the oiler.
  • Foreman: No speeding and no horse playing.
  • Alec Baldwin: Added the foreman.
  • Foreman: Now go help Alfie.
  • Jack: Yes sir!
  • Alec Baldwin: Replied Jack eagerly and he raced off.
  • Jack's Oiler: Remember...
  • Alec Baldwin: Called the oiler.
  • Jack's Oiler: Safety first.
  • Alec Baldwin: Alfie is an excavator. He makes the hardest job seem like play.
  • Jack: I'm Jack. I'm here to help.
  • Alfie: More help means more dirt, more dirt means more fun. I'm Alfie.
  • Alec Baldwin: Jack and Alfie were working hard and having wonderful fun. Suddenly, a huge dump truck roared by.
  • Alfie: Max!
  • Alec Baldwin: Alfie cried.
  • Jack: So that's Max.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Jack.
  • Jack: Thomas was right, he is trouble.
  • Alfie: Look out, Jack!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Alfie. Max stopped just in time. Jack refused to move.
  • Jack: Stop bullying!
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Jack bravely.
  • Max: Can't you take a joke?
  • Alec Baldwin: Max grumbled and dieseled away.
  • Alfie: Thank you, Jack.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Alfie. Then the foreman shouted...
  • Foreman: Oliver, move this rock!
  • Jack: I'll do it!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Jack. Jack scooped a bucket full of rock.
  • Jack's Oiler: Stop!
  • Alec Baldwin: Shouted his oiler, but he didn't stop. He was too eager to help.
  • Isabella: No!
  • Alec Baldwin: Shouted Isabella. But it was too late.
  • Jack: Oh no!
  • Alec Baldwin: He cried.
  • (Jack hits the oil cans)
  • Jack: Oops!
  • Alec Baldwin: Jack sputtered. Miss Jenny was glad Jack wasn't hurt but she was disappointed.
  • Miss Jenny: Safety first!
  • Alec Baldwin: She said firmly.
  • Miss Jenny: Means you don't rush in where you don't belong.
  • Jack: I'm sorry, Miss Jenny.
  • Alec Baldwin: Jack said sadly.
  • Miss Jenny: Maybe i'd not be ready for the pack.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sighed Miss Jenny.
  • Miss Jenny: We'll see if you can do better tomorrow.
  • Alec Baldwin: After Miss Jenny returned to the yards, Jack was sad. Isabella could see he was unhappy.
  • Isabella: You're a good front loader.
  • Alec Baldwin: She said.
  • Alfie: And a good friend.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Alfie.
  • Thomas: Being a good friend is important.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas. That made Jack feel just a bit better.
  • (A nameplate sequence occurs and we begin A Friend In Need)
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas chuffed along the branch line, thinking about his new friend Jack.
  • Thomas: I hope he's doing better today.
  • Alec Baldwin: Puffed Thomas. Yesterday, Jack had broken the rules and had gotten into trouble. The pack was widening the road beneath the old quarry bridge. Jack and Alfie were loading Max. Dust and dirt flew everywhere. Work had never been so much fun. Jack felt very proud. He worked hard, been very good and followed all the rules. But he was worried Miss Jenny wouldn't let him stay. Ned the Steam Shovel was cheerfully clearing rocks. Ned has a big bucket and a big heart. Sometimes his bucket was too full.
  • Max: Careful, bumblebucket!
  • Ned: Sorry.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Ned cheerfully. Thomas couldn't wait to get to the old bridge. He'd knew the pack were working there. He could see how Jack was doing. Back at the site, the foreman shouted...
  • Foreman: Oliver, this top soil needs moving, now!
  • Jack: I'll move it!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Jack.
  • Alfie: Jack!
  • Alec Baldwin: Before anyone could stop him, Jack raced under the bridge. He was about to fill his bucket when he remembered Miss Jenny's warning.
  • Miss Jenny: Don't jump in where you don't belong.
  • Jack: Oliver.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Jack: This is your job not mine.
  • Oliver: Thank you.
  • Alec Baldwin: Oliver said politely.
  • Kelly: Well done, Jack.
  • Alec Baldwin: Called Kelly.
  • Alfie and Isabella: Yes well done.
  • Alec Baldwin: Chimed Alfie and Isabella. Jack beamed proudly. Later, Ned was moving up at the bridge. His oiler had told him to lower his crane on.
  • Ned: I must be careful, i must be careful, i must be careful.
  • Alec Baldwin: Then there was trouble. Ned hadn't lowered his crane far enough. It knocked loose the important keystones. The bridge started to crumble. Thomas puffed towards the bridge, unaware of the danger ahead.
  • (Thomas' whistle toots)
  • Jack: Thomas!
  • Alec Baldwin: Jack jumped in and lifted his front loader up against the bridge. He pushed with all his might. Thomas saw the flagman. His driver applied the brakes, but it was too late.
  • Thomas: Cinders and ashes!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Thomas. Jack didn't let go. Finally, Thomas' driver backed Thomas to safety.
  • Kelly: Hold on, Jack!
  • Alec Baldwin: Called Kelly and he rushed to help. Jack couldn't hold the bridge any longer.
  • Kelly: Are you all right, Jack?
  • Jack: I think so.
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas brought Jack back to the yard. Jack was afraid Miss Jenny would be cross with him. After all, he had jumped in and damaged his arms. But Miss Jenny was pleased.
  • Miss Jenny: Spot on, Jack!
  • Alec Baldwin: She said.
  • Miss Jenny: Ye'd make a mother proud!
  • Thomas: And a tank engine grateful.
  • Alec Baldwin: Thomas chuffed.
  • Miss Jenny: It's off to the fitters with you tomorrow, Jack, the pack can't have a front loader with bent arms.
  • Jack: You mean I can stay?
  • Miss Jenny: I wouldn't have it any other way.
  • Alec Baldwin: Miss Jenny grinned.
  • Kelly: We're a cracking crew!
  • Alec Baldwin: Laughed Kelly.
  • Isabella: And all the better for Jack's being here.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Isabella.
  • Alfie: Welcome to the pack, Jack!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cheered Alfie. Jack was so happy he couldn't think of anything to say. So he just revved his engine and bounced his bucket. As Thomas steamed towards Tidmouth Sheds he felt very happy.
  • Thomas: Yes.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Thomas: Welcome to the pack, Jack.
  • (Another nameplate sequnce occurs and we begin The Runaway)
  • George Carlin: Thomas the Tank Engine was ill. Workmen had been trying to make him better, but it was no use.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Edward must take you to the works.
  • George Carlin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • (Edward's whistle toots)
  • George Carlin: Thomas felt very miserable. Then, Sir Topham Hatt spoke to Duck.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I want you to help Percy and Toby while Thomas is away.
  • George Carlin: Duck was delighted. He already knew Percy and soon made friends with Toby and Bertie. Terence the Tractor gave him a big welcome too.
  • Terence: Take care of Thomas' coaches.
  • George Carlin: He advised.
  • Terence: He's sure to miss them while he's away.
  • (Duck's whistle toots)
  • George Carlin: Duck was very gentle with the coaches. Annie and Clarabel were impressed.
  • Annie and Clarabel: Such nice manners.
  • George Carlin: They told each other.
  • Annie and Clarabel: It really is a pleasure to go out with him.
  • (Duck's whistle toots)
  • George Carlin: When Thomas came back, Annie and Clarabel told him how well duck had managed. Thomas was so pleased to be home that he soon forgot to be jealous.
  • (Thomas' whistle toots)
  • George Carlin: The works have left Thomas' handbrake very stiff. It made his brakes seen they were on, when in fact they were not. As a result, he and his coaches often overran the platform. Thomas found this most embarrasing. Gradually, his driver and fireman learned to be extra careful. But one day, Thomas' fireman was ill and a relief man took his place.
  • (Thomas' whistle toots)
  • George Carlin: The fireman had fastened the coupling and joined the driver and stationmaster on the platform to wait for Henry's passengers. The fireman had forgot all about Thomas' handbrake. Thomas simmered happily.
  • Thomas: Not long now.
  • George Carlin: He tought. As he saw Henry slowly approaching. But Thomas' brakes were not on and suddenly he felt his wheels begin to move. He tried to stop, but he couldn't without his driver and fireman. He tried to whistle a warning, but he couldn't do that either. The Conductor, driver, fireman and passengers were all stranded on the platform.
  • Annie and Clarabel: Stop! Stop!
  • George Carlin: Shrieked Annie and Clarabel. But Thomas, with plenty of steam, kept on going. The alarm went down the line.
  • Signalman: Stop the runaway!
  • George Carlin: There ready for action was Harold the Helicopter. The inspector had made a plan and together they took off into the sky. At last Thomas was tiring.
  • Thomas: I need to stop, i need to stop.
  • George Carlin: He panted weirdly. As they neared the next station Thomas saw Harold land. They entered the platform slowly enough for the inspector to act. Judging his moments the inspector scrambled into the cab and screwed the brakes on.
  • (The inspector brakes with all his strength)
  • George Carlin: At last Thomas stopped. Both he and the inspector were very relieved. Then they thanked Harold.
  • Harold: Think nothing of it. Glad to be at service anytime.
  • Inspector: Thomas.
  • George Carlin: Remarked The inspector.
  • Inspector: You must never let this happen again.
  • George Carlin: Weirdly, Thomas agreed with him.
  • (Another nameplate sequence occurs and we begin Wrong Road)
  • George Carlin: Thomas' branch line is important and so is Edward. But their tracks and bridges are not so strong as those on the main line. Sir Topham Hatt does not allow the heavier main line engines like Gordon to run on them. But one day, the way Gordon was talking, he would have tought Sir Topham Hatt had given this order for quite another reason.
  • Gordon: It's not fair!
  • George Carlin: Grumbled Gordon.
  • Edward: What isn't fair?
  • George Carlin: Asked Edward.
  • Gordon: Letting branch line diesels pull main line trains.
  • Edward: Never mind, Gordon. I'm sure BoCo will let you pull his freight cars sometimes.
  • George Carlin: Gordon spluttered.
  • Gordon: I wont pull BoCo's dirty cars. I wont run on branch lines.
  • Edward: Why not it will be a nice change.
  • Gordon: Sir Topham Hatt would never approve.
  • George Carlin: Huffed Gordon.
  • Gordon: Branch lines are vulgar.
  • George Carlin: Gordon puffed away. Edward chuckled and followed him to the station. Every evening the two engines pulled two fast trains from the station. Gordon always leaves first with an express for the main line. Edward follows five minutes later with his train for the branch line. Usually everything runs like clockwork. But tonight there was trouble. A Lady in a green floppy hat was saying goodbye to a friend. It was nearly time for Gordon to start. The fireman looked back towards the conductor's van and saw something green waving.
  • Gordon's Fireman: Right away, mate!
  • George Carlin: He thought the conductor had waved his flag. Gordon started. Leaving luggage, his passengers and the conductor all standing on the platform. Everyone was very surprised and cross. To make matters worse, by the time Gordon had been stopped and brought back, Edward was already late with his train.
  • (Edward's whistle toots)
  • George Carlin: So now, he set off first. But the signalman at the junction wasn't told about the change. By mistake, he sent Edward along the main line. Gordon was sent along the branch and arrived cold and cross on one of the sidings near the harbour. Next morning, Bill and Ben peeped into the yard. There were no cars for them but they didn't mind that. Teasing Gordon will be much better fun.
  • Bill: What's that?
  • George Carlin: Asked Bill?
  • Ben: Sheesh!
  • George Carlin: Whispered Ben.
  • Ben: It's Gordon.
  • Bill: It looks like Gordon but it can't be. Gordon never comes on the branch lines. He thinks they're vulgar.
  • George Carlin: Gordon pretended he hadn't heard.
  • Ben: If it isn't Gordon.
  • George Carlin: Said Ben.
  • Ben: It's just a pile of Old Iron.
  • Bill: Which we better take it to the scrapyard.
  • Ben: No Bill, this blocks used for scrap we'll take it to the harbour and dump it in the sea.
  • (Gordon's Whistle toots)
  • George Carlin: Gordon was alarmed.
  • Gordon: I am Gordon. Stop, stop!
  • George Carlin: When BoCo suddenly arrived, Gordon thought him the most beautiful sight he had ever been.
  • Gordon: BoCo, my dear engine, save me.
  • George Carlin: BoCo quickly sized up the situation and threathened to take away the cars he brought for Bill and Ben. This made the twin behave at once. Gordon tought BoCo was wonderful.
  • Gordon: Those little demons. How do you do it?
  • BoCo: Ah well.
  • George Carlin: Said BoCo.
  • BoCo: It's just a knack.
  • George Carlin: Gordon still believed that BoCo saved his life. But he knows the twins were only teasing. Don't we?
  • (Another nameplate sequence occurs and we begin Percy's Predicament)
  • George Carlin: Daisy the Diesel Rail-car's work in the countryside was full of surprises. But she was frightened to bulls and cows, and she remain very lazy and scuttled. One day, Toby brought Henrietta to the station where Percy was grumbling shunting.
  • Toby: Hello, Percy. I see Daisy's left the milk behind again.
  • Percy: I had to make a special journey within i suppose. Anyone would think i've nothing to do.
  • George Carlin: Grumbled Percy.
  • Toby: Tell you what?
  • George Carlin: Replied Toby.
  • Toby: I'll take the milk, you fetch my freight cars.
  • George Carlin: Their drivers and stationmaster agreed. Percy had never been to the quarry before. He began ordering the freight cars about.
  • Percy: Hurry along.
  • George Carlin: He said. The freight cars grumbled to each other.
  • Cars: This is Toby's place! Percy's got no right to poke his funnel in here and push us around.
  • George Carlin: They whispered and pass the word.
  • Cars: Pay Percy back! Pay Percy back!
  • Percy: Come along.
  • George Carlin: Puffed Percy.
  • Percy: No nonsense.
  • Cars: We'll give him nonsense.
  • George Carlin: Giggled the freight cars. But they followed so quietly that Percy thought they were under control. Suddenly, they saw a notice ahead: All Trains Stop To Pin Down Brakes.
  • Percy: Peep peep! Brakes, Conductor, please!
  • George Carlin: But before he could check them the freight cars surged ahead.
  • Cars: On! On!
  • George Carlin: They cried.
  • Percy: Help! Help!
  • George Carlin: Whistled Percy. The man on duty at the crossing rushed to warn traffic with his red flag but was too late to switch Percy to the runaway sidings. Frantically trying to grip the rails Percy slid into the yard.
  • Percy: Peep! Peep! Look out!
  • (Crash!)
  • George Carlin: The break van was in smithereens. Percy's driver and fireman had jumped clear but Percy was stranded. Next day, Sir Topham Hatt arrived. Toby and Daisy had helped to clear the wreckage but Percy remained on his perch of freight cars.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: We must now try.
  • George Carlin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: To run a branch line with Toby and a diesel. You have put us in an awkward predicament, Percy.
  • Percy: I am sorry, sir.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: You must stay here till we are ready.
  • George Carlin: Continued Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: And you really must be more careful with freight cars.
  • George Carlin: Percy sighed. The freight cars groaned beneath his wheels. He quite understood about awkward predicaments. Sir Topham Hatt spoke severly to Daisy too.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: My engines work hard. I send lazy engines away.
  • George Carlin: Daisy was ashamed.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: However, Toby says you worked hard after Percy's accident. So you shall have another chance.
  • Daisy: Thank you, sir.
  • George Carlin: Said Daisy.
  • Daisy: I will work hard. Toby says he'll help me.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Excellent. What Toby doesn't know about branch line problems isn't worth knowing. But our Toby's an experienced engine.
  • George Carlin: Next day, Thomas came back, and Percy was sent to be mended. Annie and Clarabel were delighted to see Thomas again and he took them to a run at once. All were now friends, and Toby has taunt Daisy a great deal. She shooed a cow the other day all by herself. That show's you, doesn't it?
  • (Another nameplate sequence occurs and we begin Percy and The Haunted Mine)
  • Alec Baldwin: In the summertime, the branch line stationmasters enjoy a friendly competition for the most beautiful station on the Island of Sodor. The engines love to help too. One evening Sir Topham Hatt came to the sheds.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I want Percy to collect some flower bushes from Lower Tidmouth Station.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: They're at Maithwaithe.
  • Percy: Maithwaithe?
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy said.
  • Percy: Y-y-yes sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: He added nervously. Percy chuffed anxiously through the thickening fog. He doesn't like travelling to Maithwaithe at night. The line passes through a junction next to a spooky old quarry mine. Percy hoped the signal at the junction would be green. He didn't want to stop next to the mine. But the signal was red. He had to stop. Suddenly he saw something.
  • Percy: Bouncing buffers!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Percy. His driver hadn't seen the old chimney sink into the ground. The signal changed. Percy was so scared, he steamed away as fast as he could. The next day, Percy was telling Donald and Douglas about the disappearing chimney.
  • Donald: It's the naughty gnomes.
  • Alec Baldwin: Teased Donald.
  • Douglas: We fat men with big feet. They make strange things happen.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Douglas.
  • Douglas: It's legend. They steal your wheels and filch your funnels.
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy didn't want to believe them, but he wasn't sure. Sir Topham Hatt was waiting for Percy at Dryaw Station.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I want you to collect some freight cars from the abandoned mine.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Percy: Y-y-yes sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy answered. But he really didn't want to go there again. Percy hoped he wouldn't see anything else disappear. He slipped into the sidings and buffered up to the freight cars.
  • Percy: Spooky.
  • Alec Baldwin: Stammered Percy. Suddenly, another building at the old mine sank into the ground.
  • Percy's Driver: What was that?
  • Alec Baldwin: Shouted his driver.
  • Percy: Double bouncing buffers!
  • Alec Baldwin: Shrieked Percy. He was so scared, he lurched forward and rammed the freight car.
  • Percy: Naughty gnomes!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Percy. He steamed away faster than before, all the way back to Lower Tidmouth Station. Percy's driver told Sir Topham Hatt what they had seen.
  • Percy: It's the naughty gnomes.
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Percy.
  • Percy: They like to cause trouble. It's legend.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Nonsense.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: The old buildings are collapsing at empty mine shafts. That's all.
  • Percy: But i saw the gnomes.
  • Alec Baldwin: Protested Percy.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Of course you did.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Garden gnomes.
  • Percy: Garden gnomes?
  • Sir Topham Hatt: To decorate Lower Tidmouth Station.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sir Topham Hatt said.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: They're not scary. Garden gnomes bring good luck.
  • Alec Baldwin: And he ordered Percy to return immediately and get them. Percy was scared, but he knew he had to be responsible. So he carried on.
  • Percy: I'm not scared, i'm not scared.
  • Alec Baldwin: He waited for something else spooky to happen. But it didn't and Sir Topham Hatt was right. The garden gnomes weren't scary at all. His driver and fireman had collected the gnomes and Percy took them straight back to Lower Tidmouth Station. Later that week, the stationmanster thanked Percy.
  • Stationmanster: We wouldn't have won our competition without your garden gnomes, Percy.
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy was very proud.
  • Percy: You were right, sir, naughty gnomes can be lucky after all.
  • (Another nameplate sequence occurs and we begin Toby Had A Little Lamb)
  • Alec Baldwin: Winter on the Island of Sodor can be windy cold. When the cold wind blows, the engines can't wait to get back to the snug warm of Tidmouth Sheds.
  • Toby: Bitter cold, bitter cold, bitter cold.
  • Alec Baldwin: Chuffed Toby.
  • Toby: Still, I'll soon be back in my nice dry shed.
  • Alec Baldwin: But suddenly, Toby's driver applied the brakes. He could see a farmer standing neat deep in snow. He was waving a red flag.
  • Farmer McColl: Mah phone lines are down, all the roads are blocked and my sheep had just started lambing.
  • Alec Baldwin: The farmer said.
  • Farmer McColl: They're trapped on the hillside, cut off by the snow.
  • Toby: What can we do to help?
  • Alec Baldwin: Toby chuffed.
  • Farmer McColl: I need a vet as quickly as possible.
  • Toby's Driver: We'll stop at the next signalbox.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Toby's Driver.
  • Toby's Driver: I'll phone the vet from there.
  • Alec Baldwin: Toby raced to the signalbox and the driver phoned ahead to the station. Sir Topham Hatt and The Vet were waiting for Toby as he arrived.
  • Toby: The farmer's lambs are stranded on the hillside!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Toby.
  • Toby: We've got to rescue them!
  • Sir Topham Hatt: So we shall.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I'll send Duck right away. This is a job for an engine with a snowplough.
  • Alec Baldwin: Toby knew Duck was the right engine for the job. He was very powerful.
  • Toby: Hurry!
  • Alec Baldwin: Toby called anxiously, as Duck chuffed out of the station. But so much snow had fallen, the tracks ahead were blocked.
  • Duck's Driver: We can't go on.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Duck's driver grimly.
  • Duck's Driver: We'll have to go back.
  • Alec Baldwin: Toby was surprised to see Duck return to the station.
  • Duck: I tried my hardest.
  • Alec Baldwin: Puffed Duck.
  • Duck: But the weather's getting worse.
  • Duck's Driver: Even Duck's snowplough can't get through.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said his driver. Then, Toby had an idea.
  • Toby: My old branch line runs out there, sir, remember?
  • Sir Topham Hatt: It's far too dangerous.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: It would never carry Duck's weight.
  • Toby: It might take my weight.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Toby.
  • Toby: And I know that line on the back of my buffers.
  • Alec Baldwin: He added.
  • Toby: It's our only chance to help the lambs.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sir Topham Hatt agreed, but he told Toby to be very careful. Soon, a blizzard was howling. Toby's driver was worried.
  • Toby: I can do it.
  • Alec Baldwin: Called Toby.
  • Toby: As long as these rails hold.
  • Alec Baldwin: But Toby had forgotten about the rickety old bridge.
  • Toby: Help! My wheels are wobbling!
  • Alec Baldwin: He cried. His driver fought for control as Toby struggled on.
  • Toby: I've got to reach the other side of this bridge.
  • Alec Baldwin: Gasped Toby.
  • Toby: Those lambs need me.
  • Alec Baldwin: The farmer was waiting. It was very cold. Suddenly, a ghostly glowing eye shone from the snowstorm. It was Toby's headlamp.
  • Farmer McColl: You've made it!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried the farmer.
  • Farmer McColl: What a brave engine you are.
  • Alec Baldwin: The vet and the farmer went to find the lambs. But they soon returned.
  • Vet: The lambs are safe and sound, Toby.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said the vet.
  • Vet: But we need a place now to keep the little ones warm.
  • Alec Baldwin: Toby smiled.
  • Toby: I'll think you'll find Henrietta as plenty of room.
  • Alec Baldwin: Toby stayed for several days just to make sure the lambs were all right. The farmer was very grateful.
  • Farmer McColl: Thank you, Toby.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Farmer McColl: We could've done it without you.
  • Toby: Thank you.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Toby.
  • Toby: There's nothing I like better than helping out a friend in need.
  • (Another nameplate sequence occurs and we begin Down By The Docks)
