Jimi Hendrix (Nov. 27, 1942- Sep. 18, 1970) was a guitarist, thought to be one of the most influential musicians of the twentieth century. Known for mixing blues and funk sounds with high distortions, Jimi Hendrix was named Rolling Stone Magazine 1 greatest guitarist of all time.

Formed in 1966 in London, England, The Jimi Hendrix Experience created some of Hendrix's best known work- Purple Haze, Hey Joe, and the cover of the Bob Dylan song All Along the Watchtower
