Leon Street runs from Greenleaf Street (the entrace to Lake Hall is on the corner) southwards to Ruggles Street. Between Greenleaf and the entrance to the West Village parking garage it is a one-way (southbound) street. Prior to the existence of the later West Village buildings, its main University purpose was access to Willis Hall and some University physical plant facilities.
The street was purchased ca. 1997 by the university, partially in order to implement traffic controls (speed bumps and limits) on the street, which had become discovered as a quick way from Huntington to Ruggles Street, as Forsyth stops at a cul-de-sac in front of Ruggles T station.
