Earth's moon (Luna) in the universe of "Space the Ultimate Frontier" is politically divided between the Red World Empire based upon the planet Mars (see Mars in Space the Ultimate Frontier) and the United Earth Governing Alliance based upon the mother planet (see Earth in Space the Ultimate Frontier). Cities on Luna tend be be underground or under surface domes (or both), and economically based upon mining, though a few use gambling casinos for a source of wealth. Lunar cities, regardless of their political affiliation, have a degree of local autonomy under democratically elected city councils, though those under the rule of the Red World Empire are also supervised by military governors. Lunar cities under the rule of the United Earth Governing Alliance also have the right to send some elected representatives to the Governing Alliance's General Assembly.
