MATH 816 is an office in the Mathematical Sciences building at Purdue University. In the context of Purdue Improv Club this office has gained a reputation as an ideal spot from which to execute the assassination of university president Martin C. Jischke or any other official.

[edit] Reference in Improv
- Original reference to this room was during Beard's excellent workshop on innuendo. While discussing the fact that innuendo isn't all about sex, it can refer to other things, like assassination. The reference was actually made another room, likely MATH 815.
- Referenced in Martin C. Jischke's Journal of Preeminence in a game of Dear Diary
- Referenced by Benji "Hallway" Milanowski in a game of Party Quirks to convey that he was Charles J. Guiteau, the lawyer who assassinated President James A. Garfield.
[edit] Current Occupancy
Math 816 is currently occupied by Visiting Assistant Professor Chin-Yi Jean Chan.
[edit] Fiction
Upon learning this information Renee "Kamikaze" Leyburn instantly came up with this tantalizing short-short story on the subject:
- "Chin Yi closed the door. He'd been planning this day for months now. Setting the black violin case on his desk he flipped open the clasps with what can only be described as relish. He pulled the rifle out and caressed the cold blue steel. Now was the time. Today was his day. He went to the window. The view was perfect..."
[edit] Creepy Memory
John "Cowboy" Clawson has remarked that it is creepy that Jamie Weigandt knows for a fact that the original room referenced was not MATH 816, but an odd numbered room (likely MATH 815).
Thorough explanation of this knowledge proves it to be less creepy. Being a mathematics major, Jamie is very familiar with the Mathematical Sciences Building, and knows that odd numbered rooms are found on the interior, and thus windowless. Jamie simply remembers that it was odd to have a snipers bullet come from a room with no windows.
