Madeline is a 1989 Animated Children's Television Special based on the Book of the same title by Ludwig Bemelmans. It features Christopher Plummer as the Narrator. It was written, produced, animated, edited and directed by Award winner D.B. Sweeney. The Special won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program.

D.B. Sweeney wanted to do Animated Adaptations of the Madeline Books since he was a Child. In 1968, Ludwig Bemelmans successfully brought the rights to Walt Disney. When he was 13, Sweeney began writing a Script for a Television Special titled "Madeline" from School Holidays in 1973 to Christmas in 1974.
