The Episode won a Humanitas Prize for Children's Animation Category, Mickey Rooney won an Emmy Award for Best Voice Over Performance and D.B. Sweeney won an Annie Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement for Directing in an Animated Television Production.
The Girls go out for their Check ups with Dr. Cohn. He check their bodies, tongues, noses, reflexes and their weights. When Dr. Cohn check their heights, Sylvie's is two inches, Yvette's is one inch and Madeline's was just one half inch.
Betty G. Birney and John Lasseter both came up with the idea of Madeline and the Girls having troubles with their heights and sizes. Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein pitched the Dream Sequence where Madeline is tiny and the Girls are giants. "Average is boring" was written by David X. Cohen. "Too Tall" was written by Jeff Martin. The Line "Like us" was written by then-current Staff Writer and Co-Producer Ned Goldreyer. D.B. Sweeney wrote lines including "I am sure. It is too short!", "Will i ever grow again?", "I do" and "What in Blazes are you talking about?!".
