Madeline and the Singing Dog is the eight Episode of Madeline's First Season.

The Episode was written by Shelley Zellman and Frank Oz and directed by D.B. Sweeney. It guest stars John Goodman as an Impressario, Wallace Shawn as the Cabaret Barker, Dean Jones as the Opera Guard, Al Hirschfeld as an Artist, Jim Carrey as Blake Preston and Ray Bolger as a Floppy Dancer. The Song "One more Bone" Composed by Stephen Sondheim with Lyrics by George Meyer, was sung by Linda Ronstadt and the Song "Figaro", was sung by Placido Domingo.

The Episode won five Emmys for "Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition", "Outstanding Achievement Writing in an Animated Program", "Outstanding Animated Program", "Outstanding Achievement in Directing in an Animated Program" and "Outstanding Achievements in Graphics and Title Design".
