A Magical Protectorate is a large area in which magical creatures live in secret. However, there are some places which were founded by different wizards, those places were called the Free Colonies by outsiders. The free colonies are the states that were the original thirteen colonies. The divisions of some of the free colonies are related to the divisions of the colonial colonies.
