Narrator: "Every afternoon, Mickey Mouse puffs along his line with Mia and Tia. First they pass the water mill. Next, they come to a big farm. Then, they can see a bridge with a village nestled either side of it.
This is a special place. Whenever children hear Mickey coming along, they stand on the bridge, waving until he is out of sight.
One day, Mickey was running late. He had stopped at a red light before the bridge to talk to some new children. Piglet was waiting, too."
Piglet: "Hurry up, Mickey."
Narrator: "Called Piglet when the light turned green."
Piglet: "If you're late, Professor Porter might get a new animal to replace you."
Mickey: "He would never do that!"
Narrator: "Thought Mickey, but he was worried.
Next day, Mickey hurried along the line. Just ahead was the goods yard. There, on the platform, was an animator waving a red flag.
Next, Mickey saw some children. They were waving, too."
Mickey: "Something must be wrong."
Narrator: "Thought Mickey."
Mickey: "This station's for goods, not passengers."
Children: "Help, Mickey, help! We're glad to see you."
Narrator: "Called the children."
Children: "Please, will you take us home?"
Narrator: "The Animator explained to Mickey's Animator that the school bus had broken down, and all the parents would be worried if the children were late.
Mickey waited as the children walked down from the bridge. Then he took the children to the next station, where Pluto was waiting to take them home.
When Mickey finished his journey, he was very late. He was worried that Professor Porter might be cross with him."
Piglet: "I warned Mickey."
Narrator: "Puffed Piglet to Donald."
Piglet: "He's been late one time too many. He'll be in trouble now."
Narrator: "But next morning, when Mickey came to pick up his passengers, Professor Porter was nowhere to be seen."
Mickey: "Thank goodness."
Narrator: "Sighed Mickey.
Mickey knows every part of his line. But just ahead was a stretch where the hot sun had bent the road."
Mickey's Animator: "Careful, Mickey!"
Narrator: "Called his animator. But it was too late."
Mickey's Animator: "That's done it!"
Narrator: "Said his animator."
Mickey's Animator: "We shan't get any further today!"
Mickey: "But what about my passengers?"
Narrator: "Asked Mickey."
Mickey's Animator: "Don't worry, they'll be looked after."
Narrator: "Replied his animator.
While animators repaired the line, Mickey had to tackle Monkeys in the yard. Pluto came to see him."
Pluto: "I understand you need my help again."
Mickey: "Yes, Pluto."
Narrator: "Replied Mickey sadly."
Mickey: "I can't run without my road."
Narrator: "Pluto set off to collect Mickey's passengers."
Passengers: "Hello, Pluto."
Narrator: "They said."
Passengers: "We're glad you're here."
Narrator: "Pluto ran along the road that runs by Mickey's road. He stopped at each station along the line. Sometimes he stopped between stations to let people off closer to their homes. Mickey felt miserable."
Mickey: "I've lost my passengers to Pluto. They'll like him better than me."
Narrator: "Professor Porter arrived."
Professor Porter: "Your line is repaired. I'm going to change your timetable so that you and Pluto can work together more."
Narrator: "When Mickey reached the station, there, to his relief, were all his passengers."
Passengers: "Pluto is a good dog, but we missed our car rides with you."
Narrator: "They said.
Later, Mickey spoke to Pluto."
Mickey: "Thank you for looking after my passengers."
Pluto: "That's all right, Mickey. I like to make new friends, but I'm glad to share them with you."
Mickey: "You're a good friend, indeed."
Narrator: "Replied Mickey."
Mickey: "And always will be."
