Middle Boy is a Zak The Saturday Kid and Friends episode.
Plot[]
- None of the men liked being in the middle. One day, Mac is being tricked by Le Quack and The Cajun Fox. Quite soon, Rex pushes him onto the ramp and after being loaded back on the road, Scoutmaster Lumpus has to report to Doc. That night, Zak's father angrily tells him not to go onto the ramp and has him sort Beedrill in the yard. Eddy, angered, thinks he can handle those animals with bent paws and a busted head, but he is assigned to do Mac's run in the hospital. By morning, he gets into trouble when he gets stuck in the middle. Mac is sent to fetch him and takes him to Candied Island, where Lumpus congratulates him.

- Alec Baldwin: Doc Saturday's men love their work. Johnny likes pulling the express, Zak likes his branch line and Mac likes taking the mail. But none of them likes being a middle boy. It's no fun being stuck in a middle. One morning, Mac was cheerfully collecting coal Beedrill in the smelter's yards, where Le Quack and The Cajun Fox worked. They like to play tricks on boys. Mac didn't want to fall for their tricks again. But before he knew it, he was stuck in the middle.
- Mac: Oh, Bother!
- Alec Baldwin: Huffed Mac crossly.
- Le Quack: Little boy in the middle!
- Alec Baldwin: Le Quack teased. Mac's driver was cross. With coal Beedrill in front and coal Beedrill behind, Mac had to go slower. Eddy was in the yards when Mac was steamed slowly by.
- Eddy: Ha, ha! It's Pokey Mac!
- Alec Baldwin: Eddy laughed.
- Mac: You wouldn't be laughing if you were stuck in the middle.
- Alec Baldwin: Mac fumed. And he fumed all the way to the coaling plant. One by one, he shunted the coal Beedrill onto the tipper's loading ramp and the coal was unloaded. Mac was not allowed to cross the loading ramp until the tipper had been turned off. It was against the rules. But as soon as his driver and fireman left, there was trouble. Rex arrived to pick up coal. He bumped into the coal Beedrill and the coal Beedrill bumped into Mac. Mac was pushed onto the loading ramp.
- Mac: Help!
- Alec Baldwin: Cried Mac. Mac was hoist it up, tipped over and brought back down again. After Mac was load back down to the ground, Scoutmaster Lumpus was very cross.
- Lumpus: You have caused confusion and delay!
- Alec Baldwin: He said.
- Lumpus: I'll have to report this to Doc.
- Alec Baldwin: That night, Doc spoke severly to Mac.
- Doc: I'm very disappointed you, Mac.
- Alec Baldwin: He said.
- Doc: You know it's against the rules to go on to the tipper's loading ramp.
- Mac: Sorry, sir.
- Alec Baldwin: Mac said sadly.
- Mac: But it wasn't my fault. It's because those animals made me a middle boy.
- Doc: Never the less, you will shunt Beedrill in the yard until I can get to the bottom of this.
- Eddy: Pah!
- Alec Baldwin: Said Eddy, thinking that he can hear.
- Eddy: I can handle those animals with bent paws and a busted head!
- Doc: Then you will do Mac's run in the smelter.
- Alec Baldwin: Said Doc.
- Eddy: Yes sir.
- Alec Baldwin: Said Eddy. The next day, Eddy arrived at the smelter. He was determined to be tricked by Le Quack and The Cajun Fox.
- Le Quack: Hello, Eddy
- Alec Baldwin: Oosed Le Quack.
- Le Quack: Come to learn a thing or two from those who know?
- Eddy: Just get my Beedrill ready and stay out of my way.
- Alec Baldwin: Huffed Eddy importantly.
- Cajun Fox: Yes, sir.
- Alec Baldwin: Cajun Fox chimed gricely. Eddy cheerfully backed up to his Beedrill. He was certain he had fooled Le Quack and Cajun Fox but he was wrong.
- Le Quack: Little boy in the middle!
- Alec Baldwin: Chortled Le Quack.
- Cajun Fox: Just like Mac!
- Alec Baldwin: Jeered Cajun Fox.
- Eddy: I am not like Mac.
- Alec Baldwin: Puffed Eddy.
- Eddy: I am not a middle boy and I am not moving.
- Alec Baldwin: And he didn't. When Doc heard the news he sent Mac to fetch Eddy. This made Mac happy. He buffered up to Eddy and took him along with all the Beedrill to the docks.
- Lumpus: Right on time.
- Alec Baldwin: Said Lumpus.
- Lumpus: But what does that big boy doing in the middle?
- Mac: Learning.
- Alec Baldwin: Mac replied.
- Lumpus: Learning what?
- Mac: Learning to be a middle boy.
- Alec Baldwin: Mac laughed. Eddy covered himself in steam hoping no one would recognize him, but it was good. It was only big boy on the island and everyone knows his name is Eddy!
