Narrator: "If one day you were to meet Pluto the Dog, You would run down the winding country road with him, cross over stone-walled bridges, and travel past Mickey's forest. Then, you would hear Pluto's friendly greeting as he sees one of his friends pass by.
His name is Mr. Stork, the Postman.
Every day, Mr. Stork travels cheerfully around Disneyland.
He stops at stations, collecting letters and parcels from Mickey and Piglet's mail bags.
Then, he delivers the mail to farms and cottages far and wide.
The Disney characters know that anywhere their paths won't reach, Mr. Stork will collect their mail and deliver it safely, come rain or shine.
He's always ready to load mail bags for Mickey and Piglet, too."
Piglet: "Thank you, Mr. Stork."
Narrator: "Whistles Piglet."
Mickey: "Yes, indeed."
Narrator: "Agrees Mickey."
Mickey: "You're a really useful postman."
Mr. Stork: "Ah,"
Narrator: "Replies Mr. Stork."
Mr. Stork: "But where would I be without my van? We make a grand pair."
Narrator: "One day, Mr. Stork wasn't at the platform. A postman they didn't know dumped the bags on the platform and disappeared."
Piglet: "What happened to Mr. Stork?"
Narrator: "Wondered Piglet."
Piglet's Animator: "And his old van?"
Narrator: "Said the Animator."
Piglet's Animator: "No wonder the new postman looks cross. Trying to carry mail bags on a bicycle would make anyone miserable."
Narrator: "Next morning, the Disney characters were glad to see Mr. Stork back again. But he looked very sad."
Mr. Stork: "The postmaster decided my van was too expensive to run. The rounds take longer on my bike. I'm sorry, I can't stop to help you."
Piglet: "I wish I could cheer Mr. Stork up."
Narrator: "Sighed Piglet. He was just wondering about how this might be done, when his thoughts were rudely interrupted. A man was shouting at Mr. Stork."
Animator: "You've got to come back to Professor Porter's office. He needs you to sign some important papers right away."
Mr. Stork: "Oh, dear."
Narrator: "Replied Mr. Stork."
Mr. Stork: "This is going to make me later still!"
Narrator: "He was in a hurry, and being careless. He propped his bike against Piglet's mail bag and rushed away."
Narrator: "Cried Piglet. But Mr. Stork was out of sight. There was worse to come. Piglet's animator hadn't seen the bike and he stared away."
Piglet: "Oh, no!"
Narrator: "Cried Piglet."
Piglet: "Now there'll be trouble!"
Narrator: "And there was. Piglet's animattor quickly stopped.
Everyone came running to the scene. Mr. Stork's bicycle was in pieces!"
Piglet: "I'm sorry, Mr. Stork!"
Narrator: "Apologized Piglet."
Mr. Stork: "Never mind, Piglet."
Narrator: "Said Mr. Stork."
Mr. Stork: "It wasn't your fault. But now I've only my legs to get the mail delivered. Whatever will happen next?"
Narrator: "Mr. Stork soon found out. Next day, he was waiting happily for Piglet."
Piglet: "Peep peep!"
Narrator: "Whistled Piglet."
Piglet: "Is that a smart new van I see?"
Mr. Stork: "It is indeed. That accident did me a good turn, Piglet. My chief decided a new van would do the job, much better than another bike and worth the expense. Now I can always be on time again."
Piglet: "So I did help."
Narrator: "Beamed Piglet."
Piglet: "But by accident, you might say."
