Transcript

  • Mark Moraghan: Mindy Lee is a redheaded girl who works in TV Land. She is friends with almost every friend in the town. She's friends with Yami Yugi and Sarah Wilkins up at the castle.
  • Mindy: Hello, Sarah. Hi, Yugi.
  • Sarah: Bonjour, Mindy.
  • Yugi: Hello.
  • Narrator: She is also friends with Virgil and Richie on the Little Western line.
  • Richie: Morning, Mindy.
  • Mindy: Good morning, Richie. Hello, Virgil.
  • Virgil: Hello, Mindy.
  • Narrator: Mindy is even friends with some of the diesels on TV Land, like Jodelle at Ffarquhar Quarry and Earthworm Jim at Brendam Docks. But her best friend of all is Ash Ketchum.
  • Mindy: Hello, Ash.
  • Ash: Hello, Mindy.
  • Narrator: Ash has been Mindy's best friend since the time she helped him when Ash got stuck in a landslide near High Farm. And the two of them always try to help each other whenever they can. One day, Steven came to see Mindy.
  • Steven: Mindy, I have an important job for you.
  • Mindy: What is it, sir?
  • Steven: A new diesel is coming here on my railway on trial. I'd like you to show her around and work with her for a few days.
  • Mindy: What's the new diesel's name, sir?
  • Steven: Her name is Tara. She's not the easiest engine to get along with, Mindy. So please make her feel welcome. She should be here in another five minutes.
  • Mindy: Thank you, sir. I'll be very nice to her.
  • Narrator: Steven left. And about five minutes later, Mindy heard an unfamiliar horn.
  • Mindy: That must be Tara.
  • Narrator: Sure enough, an unfamiliar diesel was coming into the yard. She stopped nearby Mindy.
  • Mindy: Hello, I'm Mindy. You must be Tara. Steven told me that I was work with you.
  • Tara: You mean I have to work with a character who wears a bad color?
  • Mindy: Excuse me?
  • Tara: That pink color looks terrible on you. How can your controller even look at you? And why do they even call you 'Mindy'? A better name for you would be 'Pinkie'.
  • Mindy: My controller, Steven cares for all of his characters, no matter what color they are!
  • Tara: Oh, really?
  • Mindy: We have to get to work now. We have some Beedrill to deliver to Ffarquhar, and then we have to deliver more to Vicarstown.
  • Tara: Well, Pinkie, if I'm to work with you, you go at the back of the train. I don't want to look at your pink coat.
  • Narrator: Mindy felt proud to wear pink, and she wanted to tell Tara that she was being rude. But she had told Steven that she would be very nice to Brenda. So she said nothing. On the way to Ffarquhar, Mindy and Tara passed through Knapford station. Steven was there.
  • Steven: Ah, Tara, I see you're now working with Mindy. Are you two getting along alright?
  • Tara: Oh, yes, sir. Mindy let me go in front so I could look around the railway.
  • Steven: That's great. Carry on.
  • Narrator: Mindy couldn't believe it. Tara had lied to Steven.
  • Mindy: How dare you lie to Steven!
  • Tara: If you tell him, I'll push you right into the sea! Don't say a word. Got that, Pinkie?
  • Mindy: Um, yes, Tara.
  • Narrator: Mindy said nothing all the way to Ffarquhar. And she didn't say anything all the way to Vicarstown either. She was too afraid to say anything to Tara.
  • Tara: Honestly, I don't know why your controller has more steam engines than diesels. Diesels are better and more cleaner than you dirty steam characters.
  • Ken: That's what I say too. Diesels are new and revolutionary. Steam characters are only second best.
  • Tara: Who are you?
  • Ken: I'm Ken. I was the first diesel to arrive on this railway.
  • Tara: My name's Tara.
  • Ken: Well, Tara, how would you like to spend the night at the dieselworks with me and the other diesels? We'd be happy to have a new diesel there.
  • Tara: I'd like that. I'll be there soon.
  • (Ken leaves)
  • Tara: Pinkie, if don't get rid of that pink coat by tomorrow morning, I'm going to push you into the sea!
  • (Tara leaves)
  • Mindy: (sighs)
  • Narrator: Mindy had never felt so sad before. She puffed slowly home.
  • Ash: Kevin, does Mindy seem sad to you?
  • Mindy: She must have had a bad day or something. Why don't you go talk to her, Ash?
  • Ash: All right. (Puffs over to Mindy) Mindy, is everything okay?
  • Narrator: Mindy looked up at her friend, Ash. She wasn't sure if she could tell another character about her problem with Brenda. But on the other buffer, Ash had stood up for Mindy before. So maybe he could help her.
  • Mindy: I've been having bully troubles with this new diesel named Tara. She insulted my name and color, and she said that if I don't get rid of it, she'll push me into the sea.
  • Ash: I've had bully troubles before too, Mindy. But most of those times, I just stood up to them, and that's what you should do to Tara.
  • Mindy: I don't know, Ash. She did sounded serious when she said she'd push me into the sea.
  • Ash: Bullies always try to scare others like that. You just need to be stand up to her and tell her that you've had enough of her rudeness.
  • Mindy: Well, okay, I'll try it. Thanks, Ash.
  • Ash: You're welcome.
  • Narrator: So the next morning, Mindy waited for Brenda to arrive at the yards. Before long, she heard Tara's horn, and the dark blue diesel came into the yard.
  • Tara: Hey, Pinkie, you are here?
  • Mindy: It's Mindy! Not Pinkie!
  • (Tara comes towards Mindy)
  • Tara: So you are here. And you still have your pink coat of paint. Come with me now!
  • Mindy: No!
  • Tara: I said I was going to push you into the sea if you didn't get rid of that pink coat. Now come!
  • Mindy: No! You leave me alone! I've had it with your rudeness! If you don't stop bullying me, I'll push you off the rails!
  • Tara: What? No!
  • (Tara reverses into a siding and breaks the buffers)
  • Tara: Now look what you made me do! I'll tell your controller you pushed me into this siding, and he'll never know about me bullying you and that I lied to him yesterday about us.
  • Steven: (Clears throat)
  • Tara: Uh, hello, sir. I was just telling Mindy that she needs to be more careful with other characters and...
  • Steven: Tara, you're already in a lot of trouble. Don't make it worse by telling more lies to me.
  • Tara: Oh, but, sir. I...
  • Steven: Tara, I heard every word you said, and I'm very disappointed in your behavior. You've been a bully to Mindy, and you lied to me yesterday. I want you off my railway immediately. I will not have dishonest characters and bullies on my railway.
  • Tara: Yes, sir.
  • (Tara leaves)
  • Steven: Mindy, you were very brave to stand up to Brenda like that. I'm proud of you.
  • Mindy: Thank you, sir.
  • Narrator: Mindy was glad that Tara was gone, but she's even more glad to have a friend like Ash.
  • Mindy: Thanks for your advice again, Ash You're a very good friend indeed.
  • Ash: No problem. I'm always happy to help out a friend whose having bully troubles.
