Transcript

Part 1

  • (We see Ash and the others watch Rudy handing Misty a flower)
  • Rudy: For you, Misty.
  • Misty: (sniffing it) Thanks. (puts it on her head)
  • Ash: Nice Kyo and Kula Diamond outfits.
  • Rudy: We're going to a convention, Ash.
  • Misty: Good luck.
  • Paolo: We will.
  • Mahri: Hmph!
  • Mitchie: What's the matter?
  • Mahri: I'm such a cowardly girl!
  • Alex Davis: Don't be daft, Mahri.
  • Mahri: I wont!
  • Zack: You wouldn't dare.
  • Mahri: Grr!
  • (The Conductors appear)
  • Mr. Conductor 2: That Mahri's a cowardly girl.
  • Floella: Like Whitney's pet dog.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: I remember Henry needed coal.
  • Chigusa: Who's Henry?
  • Mr. Conductor 1: You'll see.
  • (Mr. Conductor 1 blows his whistle and Henry's Special Coal starts)
  • Mr. Conductor 1: One morning, Henry was feeling very sorry for himself. Sometimes he can pull trains, but sometimes he felt he had no strength at all.
  • Henry: I suffer dreadfully and no one cares.
  • James: Rubbish, Henry!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Snorted James.
  • Henry: You don't work hard enough!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Sir Topham Hatt spoke to him too.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: What's wrong with you, Henry? You have lots of new parts and new paint too, but they've done you no good. If we can't make you better, we must get another engine instead of you to do the work.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: This made Henry, his driver and fireman very sad. Sir Topham Hatt was waiting when Henry came to the platform. He had taken off his hat and coat and put on overals. Henry managed to start but his fireman was not satisfied.
  • Henry's Fireman: Henry is a bad steamer.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: He said to Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Henry's Fireman: I built up his fire, but it doesn't give enough heat.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Henry tried very hard, but it was no good. He didn't have enough steam, and came to a stop outside Edward's station.
  • Henry: Oh dear!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Thought Henry.
  • Henry: I shall have to go away! Oh dear, oh dear!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: All he could do is to go slowly onto a siding, and Edward took charge of the train. Sir Topham Hatt and the Fireman went on discussing Henry's troubles.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: What do you think is wrong, fireman?
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Asked Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Henry's Fireman: Excuse me, sir.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: He answered.
  • Henry's Fireman: But the fact is the coal was wrong. We've had a poor lot lately, and today's it's worse. The other engines can manage. They had big fireboxes. Henry's is small and can't make the heat. With Welsh coal, he'd be a different engine.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: It's expensive.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Henry: But Henry must have a fair chance. James shall go and fetch them.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: When the Welsh coal came, Henry's Driver and Fireman were excited.
  • Henry's Driver and Fireman: Now we'll show 'em, Henry old fellow.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: They carefully made his fire, putting large lumps of coal like a wall round the outside, then the glowing middle part was covered in smaller lumps.
  • Henry: You're spoiling my fire.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Complained Henry.
  • Henry's Fireman: Wait and see.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Said the fireman.
  • Henry's Fireman: We'll have a roaring fire just when we wanted.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: The fireman was right. When Henry reach the platform, the water was boiling nicely, and he had to let off steam.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: How are you, Henry?
  • Henry: Peep, peep, peep! I feel fine!
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Have you a good fire, driver?
  • Henry's Driver: Never better, sir, and plenty of steam.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: No record breaking.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Warned Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Don't push him too hard.
  • Henry's Driver: Henry won't need pushing, sir. I'll have to hold him back.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Henry had a lovely day. He had never felt so well of his life. He wanted to go fast, but his driver wouldn't let him.
  • Henry's Driver: Steady old fellow.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: He would say.
  • Henry's Driver: There's plenty of time.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: They arrived early at the station. Thomas puffed in.
  • Henry: Where have you been, lazybones?
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Asked Henry.
  • Henry: Oh, I can't wait for dawdling tank engines like you. Goodbye.
  • Thomas: Whoosh!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Said Thomas to the coaches.
  • Thomas: Have you ever seen anything like it?
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Both Annie and Clarabel agreed that they never had.
  • (Henry's Special Coal ends)
  • Chigusa: Henry has gotten coal and felt better.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: That's because he's a green engine.
  • (The Conductors disappear)
  • Mahri: (starts crying like an ambulance)
  • Ash: Waagh! Mahri!
  • Paolo: She's crying!
  • Zack: Aww man!
  • (End of Part 1)

Part 2

  • (We see Rudy asking Misty to dance at the convention)
  • Rudy: (kissing Misty's hand) You were lucky here. Shall we dance?
  • Misty: Certainly.
  • (Misty and Rudy start dancing)
  • (We cut to Ash and the others with a crying Mahri)
  • Ash: Don't start crying, Mahri.
  • Mahri: (teary eyed) I wont! You're all cowards!
  • Ivy: Cowards!?
  • Mahri: (whimpers and cries loudly like a siren)
  • Ash: My ears!
  • Mitchie: Make it stop!
  • Chigusa: Ow!
  • Mahri: (crying loudly) I hate it!
  • Ash: (holding Mahri) Don't start crying.
  • (The Conductors reappear)
  • Mr. Conductor 2: Poor Mahri.
  • Zack: She's been crying for months.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: I remember Henry and the flying kipper.
  • Mitchie: Tell us the story before Mahri cries even louder.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: I will.
  • (Mr. Conductor 1 blows his whistle and The Flying Kipper starts)
  • Mr. Conductor 1: One winter evening, Henry's driver said...
  • Henry's Driver: We'll be out early tomorrow. We've got to take the Flying Kipper. Don't tell Gordon, but I think if we pull the Kipper nicely, Sir Topham Hatt will let us pull the express. The special coal they gave you is working well.
  • Henry: Hooray!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Cried Henry.
  • Henry: That will be lovely.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: All kinds of ships use the harbour at the big station by the sea. There are passenger ships, cargo ships and fishing boats also come here. They unload their fish on the key. Some of them goes the shops in the town, and the rest in a special train to other places far away. This is the train the railwaymen called the Flying Kipper. Henry was ready at 5:00. There was snow and frost. Men hustled and shouted loading up the crates of fish. The last door banged, the guard showed his green lamp, and the Flying Kipper was ready to go.
  • Henry: Come on, come on, don't be silly, don't be silly.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Puffed Henry to the freight cars. The cars shuttered and groaned.
  • Cars: Trickety-trock, trickety-trock, all right, all right!
  • Henry: That's better, that's better.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Puffed Henry. Cloud of smoke and steam poured from his funnel into the cold air, and the fire's light shown brightly.
  • Henry: Hurry, hurry, hurry!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Panted Henry. They were going well. The light grew better, signal light shown green as they passed. Then, a yellow signal appeard ahead. His driver prepared to stop, but the home signal was down.
  • Henry's Driver: All clear, Henry. Away we go.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: They couldn't know the switches from the main line to a siding were frozen, and a home signal should have been set a danger, but snow had forced it down. A freight train was waited in a siding to let the Flying Kipper past, and a Driver and Fireman were drinking cocoa in the caboose.
  • Conductor: The Kipper is due.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Said the conductor.
  • Fireman: Who cares?
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Said the Fireman.
  • Fireman: This is good cocoa.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: The driver got up.
  • Driver: Come on, fireman, back to our engine.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: They got out just in time.
  • (Crash!)
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Henry's driver and fireman had jumped clear before the crash, but Henry lay dazed and surprised. Sir Topham Hatt came to see him.
  • Henry: The signal was down, Sir.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Said Henry.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Cheer up, Henry. It wasn't your fault. Ice and snow cause the accident. I'm sending you to Crewe, a fine place for sick engines. They'll give you your new shape and a larger firebox. You'll feel a different engine, and you won't need special coal anymore. Won't that be nice?
  • Henry: Yes, sir.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Said Henry doubtfully. Henry liked being a Crewe, but was glad to come home. A crowd of people waited to see him arrive in his new shape. He looked so splendid and strong that they gave him three cheers.
  • Henry: Peep, peep!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: He whistled.
  • Henry: Thank you very much!
  • Mr. Conductor 1: I'm sorry to say that a lot of little children were often late for school, because they waited to see Henry go by. They often see him pulling the express. He does it so well that Gordon is jealous. But that's another story.
  • (The Flying Kipper ends)
  • Mitchie: That Henry is always pulling the kipper.
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Not to be confused with the tv series.
  • (The Conductors disappear)
  • Mahri: (snoring)
  • Ash: I guess Mahri started to nap.
  • A.J.: Yeah. We shall nap too.
  • Alex Davis: Right.
  • (End of Part 2)

Part 3

  • (We see Misty and Rudy still dancing to music at the convention)
  • Misty: (as Rudy twirled her) You're making me giddy.
  • Rudy: You said it.
  • (Misty and Rudy continue dancing)
  • (We cut to Ash and the others sleeping while the conductors reappear)
  • Mr. Conductor 1: Sweet dreams, guys.
  • Mr. Conductor 2: Have a nice nap.
  • (The Conductors shake hands as the episode ends)
  • (End of Part 3)
