The Thomas stories can be used no more than three or four times.

Quotes

Quote 1

  • Marlin: (sighing) You know, Nemo. We are very proud to be fish.
  • Nemo: Yeah. I don't think we should be anything else.
  • Mr. Conductor: Well, I agree with you. Don't you think so, Dory?
  • Dory: Err, well, yeah. I think that we will never ever be anything else.
  • Mr. Conductor: Yes. Many fish think that it would be silly to be another sea creature instead of a fish. I mean, look on Sodor. Fish there can't be anything else. You know what? I'll tell you a couple of fish stories if you like.
  • Marlin: Sure. Good idea. And we can tell you about how important it is to be a fish.
  • Mr. Conductor: Great. Now, let's start with a story about Thomas. When he first went fishing, he got a terrible pain with fish in his boiler. (He blows his whistle and the story, Thomas Goes Fishing begins.)

Quotes

Quote 1

  • Mr. Ray: (Seeing Mr. Conductor with Nemo.) Well, what do we have here? A little human on our hands, Nemo?
  • Nemo: Yes. Mr. Conductor said that he would like to come to school with me. By the way, he said he'd like to tell stories.
  • Mr. Ray: Wow, that's sweet.
  • Mr. Conductor: Totally.
  • Mr. Ray: So, you tell stories, do you? Well, you're in luck. We were just going to talk about stories and books.
  • Mr. Conductor: Well, I don't need books to tell stories. I tell them with just a blow of my whistle. Now, for today's stories, I'll tell all of you about little engines, and we will begin with Thomas the Tank Engine and his big day he had pulling coaches for the first time. (He blows his whistle and the story, A Big Day for Thomas begins.)

Quote 2

  • Pearl: (After Bowled Out finishes.) I am very glad that Duck and Stepney worked together to replace the work of a silly diesel engine.
  • Mr. Conductor: I'm pleased, too. They had to do lots of teamwork.
  • Mr. Ray: Well, we do a lot of teamwork in class. Lots of it.
  • Mr. Conductor: Well, I'm not surprised. Now, does anyone want to hear a story about Oliver?
  • Children: Yeah!
  • Tad: Oh, is it the Oliver who says "Please, sir, I want some more?"
  • Mr. Conductor: No, not that Oliver from the classic by Charles Dickens. I meant the little green Great Western engine who was rescued from scrap. This is a story about him when he got tricked by some troublesome freight cars, and he fell into a turntable well. (He blows his whistle and the story, Oliver Owns Up begins.)

  • Moonfish: Yes? You want directions?
  • Marlin: Oh, no. I just want you to meet our friend, Mr. Conductor. He tells stories. He even wants to see your shapes.
  • Mr. Conductor: Yeah. And I also thought of a theme for your shapes. Animals.
  • Nemo: Animals? I thought you chose trains.
  • Moonfish: Well, we can't do trains, but we can do animals. Here we go. (They make a cow shape.) Now, can you, Mr. Conductor, tell what we have made?
  • Mr. Conductor: That's easy. It's a cow. You know, there are lots of cows on the Island of Sodor.
  • Moonfish: Really? That's amoosing!
  • Dory: Ha, ha! They're always full of jokes.
  • Marlin: Now, now, guys. This is no time for jokes. Just tell them a story about cows, Mr. C.

  • Dory: Yeah. He'll love it.
  • Nemo: Look. Here he comes.
  • Mr. Conductor: (singing on a shell pulled by a seahorse) #Jingle bells, jingle bells. Jingle all the way. Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh, hey! Jingle bells, jingle bells. Jingle all the way. Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.#

  • Mr. Conductor: Thank you, Nemo. Everyone sings it at Christmas. Isn't it fun getting ready for the holidays?
  • Nemo, Marlin and Dory: Yeah.

  • Marlin: Wow. Can you tell us some Christmas stories?
  • Mr. Conductor: Why, of course. And we'll start with the time Thomas first met Terence the Tractor. Thomas used to think Terence's caterpillar tracks were ugly. But he found out that they can be useful when the poor tank engine got stuck in a snowdrift. (He blows his whistle and the story, Terence the Tractor begins)

Quote 2

  • Mr. Conductor: (after It's Only Snow finishes) Well, I think you know about Christmas all around the world. And I think you know what Christmas adventures the engines get up to on Sodor.
  • Marlin: Now, we must do a special Christmas sing song to celebrate the holidays. We're meeting at Nemo's school.
  • Mr. Conductor: Oh, I love a sing song. Let's go.
  • (everyone swims to Nemo's school to meet the rest of the fish and Mr. Ray)
  • Mr. Ray: Testing one, two. Ladies and gentleman, fish and conductors, welcome to the Christmas sing song. We are happy to sing this song to celebrate the special holidays.
  • Mr. Conductor: Well, let's get cracking.
  • Mr. Ray: Okay. And a one, two. A one, two, three, four.
  • (trumpets sound as Bruce, Anchor and Chum play them)
  • Mr. Conductor, Nemo, Marlin, Dory, Mr. Ray and the other fish: (singing) #We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Good tidings we bring to you and your kin. Good tidings for Christmas and a Happy New Year. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.#
  • (Moonfish make fireworks and everyone cheers)
  • Mr. Conductor: Now, let's have another Christmas song with our friend Thomas. (The screen then fills with steam as Winter Wonderland begins)

  • Nemo: Way to go, Dory!
  • Mr. Ray: The important visitor is here right now.
  • (a cuttlefish swims in with a checklist)
  • Dory: Wow, you said it might be an inspector, Mr. Conductor.
  • Mr. Conductor: Yes, I did.
  • Mr. Ray: The inspector's name is Sir Cuttlefish and he's came to inspect the Coral Reef.
  • Sir Cuttlefish: And this reef is the best reef in the world. I've just inspected your anenome. It's very shiny. But I haven't looked at everything yet.
  • Nemo: Well, we can ride with you to give you a little tour.
  • Mr. Conductor: Yes. Come on. We'll come for the ride, just like Thomas and his friends in a song.

  • Nemo: Hmm, that's weird.
  • Mr. Conductor: (appearing by magic) Hello, Nemo. What are you doing?
  • Nemo: I saw a little seahorse and I want to be he's friend. But the little seahorse just swam off. Maybe he's a bit shy.
  • Mr. Conductor: I can tell. You can be shy when you start to make new friends. That's how Thomas and the other engines feel. Sometimes, new people, animals or trains can take things without asking. Emily did that once when she started to arrive on the Island.

  • Sydney: Sydney. Sydney the Seahorse.
  • Mr. Conductor: You must have got that name from Australia's largest city.
  • Sydney: Yes. Hey, Nemo, what's with the fin. You look strange. And not a good swimmer.
  • Mr. Conductor: Hey. That's not nice. Nemo's fin might be strange, but it is lucky. You shouldn't be so rude.
  • Sydney: Oh, sorry then.
  • Mr. Conductor: Many engines on Sodor tease about things new engines have. I remembered the day everyone teased Harvey the Crane Engine because of his looks.
  • Nemo: Really? What happened?
  • Mr. Conductor: Well, everyone used to think Harvey looked very strange. But when Harvey had a job to do, everyone learnt that Harvey might be strange, but he is Really Useful. Here's the story. (He blows his whistle and the story, Harvey to the Rescue begins)

  • Marlin: But what about me. I can come to the bingo too.
  • Mr. Ray: Oh, no, you're not invited. (clears throat) Right, kids, I want you to behave for Marlin, Nemo and Mr. Conductor. Okay?

  • Mr. Conductor, Nemo, Marlin, Raymond and Rebecca: Bye.
  • Mr. Conductor: Hi, you two. My name is Mr. Conductor. I'm a great storyteller. I tell stories about my favorite blue friend Thomas the Tank Engine and many of his friends. Some engines are twins like you two.
  • Rebecca: Really?
  • Mr. Conductor: Yes. And some I know stories about. We'll start with Donald and Douglas who are Scottish and had a lot to learn on Sodor when it comes to facing a Spiteful Brakevan. Just listen. (He blows his whistle and the story, Donald and Douglas begins)

  • Pearl: Oh.
  • Mr. Conductor: Never mind. We'll ask someone to clean it up later. And anyway, I can tell you about some messy adventures Thomas and his friends have. First, we'll start with Thomas and Percy having mishaps with coal. (He blows his whistle and the story, Double Trouble (S2) begins)

Quote 2

  • Mr. Conductor: (after Snow finishes) Well, the whole place is clean now.
  • Pearl: Thank you for those wonderful stories, Mr. Conductor. Now, I know that I shouldn't squirt too much.
  • Mr. Conductor: That's right. The rules say that the sea must be clean or the divers can't see anything. There's a song about rules. Would you like to hear it?
  • Pearl: Yes, please.
  • Mr. Conductor: Then here we go. (The screen then fills up with steam as Rules and Regulations begins)
