- Sam the Eagle as Oscar the Grouch
Sam the Eagle: (spoken) Like most grouches, I hate singing. But I'll let you in on a little secret. There are three songs I actually like. See if you can figure out why.
(singing) Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water.
Jack fell down and broke his crown,
And Jill came tumbling after.
(spoken) I just love the part where they roll down the hill. Oh, oh. And then there's the one about Little Miss Muffet.
(singing) Little Miss Muffet
Sat on a tuffet,
Eating her curds and whey;
Then came a spider (Ooh!)
Who sat down beside her
And frightened Miss Muffet away.
(spoken) Isn't that great? The way that spider came down and scare her? And now, here's my personal favorite:
(singing) Mistress Mary, Quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With cockle shells, and silver bells,
And pretty maids all in a row.
(spoken) Yuck! Oh, that Mary, she's very contrary.
That's what I like her. Heh, heh.
