The modern-day Review of the Week was created on the Nsider (official Nintendo) forum by GAMINGMASTER near the beginning of 2006. BIGBADBOO created the NCR It is still running and houses two contests regarding reviews, the Review of the Week (RotW) and the Nintendo Choice Review (NCR).

The Review of the Week

In the Review of the Week contest, a designated reviewer on the RotW staff looks over each review that was posted that week. He/she then selects one that they deem the best and give it the reward.

You do NOT need to post or inform your review to anyone. If it is posted, it is entered. Remember, however, that the quality of the review will reflect on who wins the contest. The review must also be about a game that has been released on a Nintendo system.

The week begins as soon as the last week has ended. This usually begins on Monday.

Nintendo Choice Review

In the NCR, each week, a staff member creates a list of eligible reviews that were posted that week. Then the Nsider community gives the poster one PM (private message) per person to vote on the review they liked the most from that list. The reviewer with the most votes gets the reward.

You do NOT need to post or inform your review to anyone. If it is posted, it is entered. Remember, however, that the quality of the review will reflect on who wins the contest. The review must also be about a game that has been released on a Nintendo system. Also keep in mind a considerable about of effort (such as reasonable length, presentation, and possibly pictures or HTML) is required to be on the list.

When voting, your PM must contain the review and the reviewer's name, and you cannot vote for yourself. PXDFAN offered the idea of containing the reviews in the title for easier counting. This formula goes: (Review number on the list) (Reviewer) (Review Title).

You may not advertise your review anywhere, besides your signature.
