Narrator: "In TV Land, high up in the mountains was a mysterious boulder. It had stood alone for a long time. But one day, workmen arrived to build a quarry on the land below.
Owl, the Little Owl met RS Mr. Conductor and Bart."
Bart: "Where's all this rock coming from?"
Narrator: "Bart asked."
Owl: "The new quarry."
Narrator: "Replied Owl."
Owl: "This mountain rock is good for many things, although it's dangerous up there."
RS Mr. Conductor: "Why?"
Narrator: "Asked RS Mr. Conductor."
Owl: "Because of a big boulder. I think it's watching me."
Narrator: "Said Owl nervously."
Bart: "How can that be? Boulders don't have eyes."
Owl: "That's as may be, Bart, but there's something strange about this one."
Narrator: "Just then, Edd arrived. He was delivering a new beaver for the quarry."
Owl: "What's that?"
Narrator: "Asked Owl."
Edd: "His called 'Sawtooth'. Apparently he helps collect the rock faster."
Narrator: "Replied Edd.
Soon Sawtooth was working hard. The men were pleased. But no one bothered to check the boulder.
When it rained, the workmen went away. Owl gazed up and shivered. Above stood Boulder. Suddenly, a large slab of rock landed on the road. Owl was shocked. Driver was concerned."
Owl's Driver: "We best leave till the weather's better. The rain loosens some of this rock."
Narrator: "He said."
Owl: "I think it's Boulder wanting us to go away."
Narrator: "Whispered Owl.
The next day, the sun shone. The quarry was filled with more TV characters.
Suddenly, Owl noticed something."
Owl: "Boulder's moving!"
Owl's Driver: "Don't be so daft! It can't."
Narrator: "Said Owl's driver. But it could."
(Boulder falls to the road and rolls towards Owl)
Owl: "It's rolling along our road!"
Owl's Driver: "We'll stop here until Boulder passes by."
Narrator: "Said Owl's driver. But Boulder was nowhere to be seen.
Owl's Driver: "Oh no! It's behind us!"
Narrator: "Just then, they saw a small junction. One road when up hill. Boulder thundered past.
Meanwhile, Franklin was making his way up to the quarry. Then he saw Boulder."
Narrator: "Boulder was catching up to them fast. But they veered into a siding."
Franklin: "We must warn the yards!"
Narrator: "Shouted Franklin."
Owl: "Yes, but how?"
Narrator: "Called Owl.
Boulder rounded a bend, and there ahead was Rabbit."
Rabbit: "It's running loose!"
Narrator: "Yelled Rabbit. His driver took him back as fast as he could."
Rabbit's Driver: "Rather a smash than a squash."
Narrator: "Sighed his driver.
At the yards, Bart was collecting goombas. Then, he heard Boulder."
Bart: "Oh no! It's heading straight for me!"
Narrator: "When Mayor Adam West inspected the damage, he decided to close the mine. Then he looked at Boulder."
Mayor Adam West: "We should have left this part of the town alone."
Narrator: "He said thoughtfully.
They moved Boulder to a hill close by the yards. Owl is sure that one clear night, it is gazing up at the mountains and that its sizes are being carried out by the wind to where it once used to stand proud and silent. I wonder if Owl is right, don't you?"
