Welcome to the PIC Microcontroller Wiki in Simple English.

This Wiki adresses the PIC microcontrollers of Microchip, even for hobbyists beside the Atmel AVR the most popular controllers of the world. A first start is possible with only a few Euro or Dollar. This Wiki takes into account, that it is read from people all over the world, who are possibly no native speakers. Thus it could be a good idea, if it was written in a simple Wnglish whereever it is possible. If you have now idea, how this could be done, you can find assistance here. In particular every native speaker is begged to take care about.

At present this Wiki is available in Simple English. The version in Simple German is in the works . It takes still a few weeks to make interlanguage links possible at this hoster. That means, that every article is linked with the same article in other languages. If you have no idea how this works look here down left. If the Simple English Page is established so far, contributors of other Simple languages can take off. The final target of the Wiki is to provide the knowledges and skills for this purpose and for the advanced users as well. Some problems are asked in Forums over and over again and experienced users are tired to answer them. Here is the right place, to write down the solution(s) once and for ever. First of all, it would be nice to collect and sort the beginner problems and assist them at the very first steps. The mentioning of the beginner problems and possible traps in the article Microchip MPLAB C18 could be a good hint, what could be done first here. A further target would be the description of the most important tools and how to get it to work.

Editing the articles can be learned within 5 minutes by reading the Help Tutorial. Everybody who knows how to edit in Wikipedia knows how to do it here. At he beginning this wiki is hosted in a common room together with other wikis and only available in Simple English. As soon as a few sides are established, it will get his own wiki-room and the simple german version will take place. The hoster of this forum is Wikia. It was founded by Jimbo Wales and Angela Beesley, who founded respectively supported Wikipedia, too. I think, this is the best adress for the continuity of this Wiki, even when the original founders are gone.

Examples for beginners

The programs should be as easy as possible i.e. using the AND-function with two input switches and output the result to a LED. Every program should be explained well. A good idea is to give every example in three versions and to explain the differences.

Even the handling of the linker is not explained very well in the net.
