Paper Ed is a fan-made children's television series also aimed at elementary age children (ages 6-11). The show would have been loosely based on the video game Paper Mario, and would have ran for 50 two-part episodes and one whole episode (total of 51) in two seasons from September 2001 to June 2003, with reruns continuing on local PBS Kids stations until 2006. It would also be the successor to Mushroom Elementary.

Format

It stars the partners of Mario (from Paper Mario) as the main characters, each with different names -- Kooper as Daniel, Goombario as Spencer, Bombette as Laura, Parakarry as Matt, Bow as Veronica, and Lakilester as Ralph. Throughout each episode, lots of school subjects are discussed, and each character has a favorite subject.

Opening Lyrics

Daniel: Get out your paper and pencil, 'cause it's time for...

(to the tune of Three Blind Mice)

Chorus: Paper Ed, Paper Ed

It's time to learn, it's time to learn

So let's get onto the school bus,

There's gonna be lots of stuff to discuss!

Now come to class and join us

On Paper Ed!

Daniel: There's always homework, so do your best.

Spencer: And by next week, we're having a test.

Laura: You'll need textbooks, we've got a ton!

Ralph: Let's all get ready to tune in on...

Chorus: Paper Ed, Paper Ed

Learning is fun, learning is fun

When you get home, turn on the light

Get out your stuff to read and write

And everything will be all right

On Paper Ed!
