Thomas and the Missing Christmas Tree

  • It was two days before Christmas.
  • (Thomas' whistle toots)
  • Many children were expected on the Island of Sodor.
  • All the engines were busy with the final preparations.
  • the Fat Controller wanted this year's carol party to be an extra-special celebration.
  • the Fat Controller was now waiting impatiently for Thomas.
  • (Thomas' whistle toots)
  • Quickly, now.
  • Ringo Starr: He said.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Our Christmas tree has arrived just in time. I want you to fetch it, Thomas. Duck can look after Annie and Clarabel until you back.
  • Thomas: Will we be all to sing carols too?
  • Ringo Starr: Asked Thomas.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: We'll see.
  • Ringo Starr: Promised The Fat Controller.
  • Thomas: It would be nice to sing carols again.
  • Ringo Starr: Sighed Thomas, as he set off on his important mission.
  • (Thomas whistle toots as he sets off to get the tree)
  • Ringo Starr: Thomas collected the tree safely, but large snowdrifts lay ahead.
  • (Thomas stops into the snowdrift)
  • Thomas: I mustn't be late.
  • Ringo Starr: He thought.
  • Thomas: The Fat Controller is relying on me.
  • (Thomas' whistle toots)
  • Ringo Starr: Whistling bravely, Thomas tried to move. But he couldn't.
  • (A big pile of snow falls)
  • Ringo Starr: There was worse to come.
  • (The snow covers Thomas)
  • Ringo Starr: Poor Thomas was snowed under. Meanwhile, the other engines waited and waited.
  • (Donald, Douglas, Henry and Gordon's whistles blow)
  • Ringo Starr: They were grumbling about Thomas for being late.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Silence!
  • Ringo Starr: Said The Fat Controller
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Thomas left the works safely, but snow has brought the telephone lines down. We must asume he is stranded.
  • Ringo Starr: The engines now felt sorry for Thomas.
  • (Donald and Douglas' whistles blow)
  • Ringo Starr: And cold, but confident, the twins set off to the rescue.
  • (The twins go find Thomas)
  • Ringo Starr: Suddenly, they came to the drift that was deeper than the rest.
  • (They hear a sound as it was like, "Help!")
  • Donald: Hush.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Donald.
  • Donald: I can hear something.
  • Douglas: Probably the wind.
  • Ringo Starr: Said Douglas.
  • (They hear it again)
  • Donald: No, listen.
  • Ringo Starr: Insisted Donald.
  • Voice: Over here.
  • (Donald and Douglas realize that it's Thomas)
  • Donald: Oh, it's Thomas. Come on. The poor wee engine must be frozen to the frames in there.
  • Ringo Starr: When the workmen arrived, it took some time to decide how to dig away the heavy drifts of snow. Thomas' driver and fireman, who had taken shelter at the nearby cottage, joined the rescue. At last, Thomas and the precious Christmas tree were free from the snowdrift.
  • (Donald and Douglas pull the snow-covered Thomas out of the drift)
  • (The wind blows the snow off of Thomas)
  • Ringo Starr: Then they set off once more to finish their long journey.
  • (Donald and Douglas' whistles blow)
  • (Thomas' whistle toots)
  • (Donald, Douglas and Thomas arrive just in time for the party)
  • Ringo Starr: The  Fat Controller greeted them warmly.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: As a reward for all your hard work, you may go and enjoy the carols.
  • (The engines' whistles start to toot)
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Be quick, now.
  • Ringo Starr: At the big station, all was soon ready.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: One, two, three.
  • (The lights flash on)
  • Ringo Starr: Suddenly, like magic, the station was flooded with lights.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Ladies, gentlemen and children, I give you three cheers for Thomas the Tank Engine, and all his friends who have made this occasion possible.
  • (Harold was in the sky, going around)
  • Ringo Starr: Suddenly, there was strange wirring sound. Percy and Toby smiled. They knew who it was.
  • (Harold starts to go down)
  • Ringo Starr: With landing lights shining brightly, Harold the Helicopter touched down gently in the snow. Bringing the greatest surprise of all, Santa Claus. Everyone cheered, and the party began.
  • (The "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" theme plays)
  • Thomas: It's no fun getting stuck in the snow.
  • Ringo Starr: Whispered Thomas to Percy.
  • Thomas: But it was worth it for this party. Happy Christmas, Percy. Happy Christmas, everyone.
