Transcript

  • (We open this episode with the Season 6 intro, and finally the start of Percy and The Haunted Mine)
  • Alec Baldwin: In the summertime, the branch line stationmasters enjoy a friendly competition for the most beautiful station on the Island of Sodor. The engines love to help too. One evening Sir Topham Hatt came to the sheds.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I want Percy to collect some flower bushes from Lower Tidmouth Station.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: They're at Maithwaithe.
  • Percy: Maithwaithe?
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy said.
  • Percy: Y-y-yes sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: He added nervously. Percy chuffed anxiously through the thickening fog. He doesn't like travelling to Maithwaithe at night. The line passes through a junction next to a spooky old quarry mine. Percy hoped the signal at the junction would be green. He didn't want to stop next to the mine. But the signal was red. He had to stop. Suddenly he saw something.
  • Percy: Bouncing buffers!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Percy. His driver hadn't seen the old chimney sink into the ground. The signal changed. Percy was so scared, he steamed away as fast as he could. The next day, Percy was telling Donald and Douglas about the disappearing chimney.
  • Donald: It's the naughty gnomes.
  • Alec Baldwin: Teased Donald.
  • Douglas: We fat men with big feet. They make strange things happen.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Douglas.
  • Douglas: It's legend. They steal your wheels and filch your funnels.
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy didn't want to believe them, but he wasn't sure. Sir Topham Hatt was waiting for Percy at Dryaw Station.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I want you to collect some freight cars from the abandoned mine.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said.
  • Percy: Y-y-yes sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy answered. But he really didn't want to go there again. Percy hoped he wouldn't see anything else disappear. He slipped into the sidings and buffered up to the freight cars.
  • Percy: Spooky.
  • Alec Baldwin: Stammered Percy. Suddenly, another building at the old mine sank into the ground.
  • Percy's Driver: What was that?!
  • Alec Baldwin: Shouted his driver.
  • Percy: Double bouncing buffers!
  • Alec Baldwin: Shrieked Percy. He was so scared, he lurched forward and rammed the freight car.
  • Percy: Naughty gnomes!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Percy. He steamed away faster than before, all the way back to Lower Tidmouth Station. Percy's driver told Sir Topham Hatt what they had seen.
  • Percy: It's the naughty gnomes.
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Percy.
  • Percy: They like to cause trouble. It's legend.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Nonsense.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: The old buildings are collapsing at empty mine shafts. That's all.
  • Percy: But I saw the gnomes.
  • Alec Baldwin: Protested Percy.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Of course you did.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Garden gnomes.
  • Percy: Garden gnomes?
  • Sir Topham Hatt: To decorate Lower Tidmouth Station.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sir Topham Hatt said.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: They're not scary. Garden gnomes bring good luck.
  • Alec Baldwin: And he ordered Percy to return immediately and get them. Percy was scared, but he knew he had to be responsible. So he carried on.
  • Percy: I'm not scared, I'm not scared.
  • Alec Baldwin: He waited for something else spooky to happen. But it didn't and Sir Topham Hatt was right. The garden gnomes weren't scary at all. His driver and fireman had collected the gnomes and Percy took them straight back to Lower Tidmouth Station. Later that week, the stationmanster thanked Percy.
  • Stationmanster: We wouldn't have won our competition without your garden gnomes, Percy.
  • Alec Baldwin: Percy was very proud.
  • Percy: You were right, sir, naughty gnomes can be lucky after all.
  • (A passing by sequence occurs and we begin Accidents Will Happen)
  • (Thomas' whistle toots)
  • Children: (singing) Thrills and spills on the railway, it's a life of happiness. But sometimes impatience can lead to carelessness.
  • Boy: (singing) Some think they are smart cats...
  • Girl: (singing) ...and some just know it all.
  • Children: (singing) But sooner or later we all find out that... Accidents happen now and again. Just when you least expect. Just when you think that life is okay, fate comes to collect. Accidents happen now and again, when people or trains get smart. If you don't concentrate on the thing that you're doing. Accidents will happen just like that. Your best laid plans can turn upside down if you get to confident. Sometime you will slip and slide if that Lady Luck's intent.
  • Girl: (singing) One minute you're riding high...
  • Boy: (singing) ...the next you're on the ground.
  • Children: (singing) But please remember, whatever the weather, you must take care cause... Accidents happen now and again, sometimes just by chance you gotta pick yourself up and dust yourself down put it down to experience. Accidents happen now and again, just don't take it all to heart. Cause if you don't concentrate on the thing that you're doing. Accidents will happen just like that. The warning signs are there for us to see most of the time. But sometimes we take chances, ignore the danger signs. Fate can surprise with no reason or rhyme. Make sure you'll learn your lesson. You'll know better next time. Accidents happen now and again. Just when you least expect. Just when you think that life is okay. Fate comes to collect. Accidents happen now and again, when people or trains get smart, if you don't concentrate on the thing that you're doing. Accidents will happen just like that. Accidents happen now and again. Sometimes just by chance. You gotta pick yourself up and dust yourself down put it down to experience. Accidents happen now and again, just don't take it all to heart.
  • Girl: If you don't concentrate on the thing that you're doing whatever you're doing is not what you're thinking.
  • Children: (singing) Accidents, incidents. Accidents, incidents, accidents happen just like that.
  • (Gordon crashed into the wall)
  • (Another passing by sequence occurs and we begin The Fogman)
  • Alec Baldwin: It was winter on the Island of Sodor. The first fogs had begun to roll in from the sea. Thomas, Annie and Clarabel love the quiet of Misty Valley. But Thomas must be careful of rocks that sometimes roll onto the tracks. Cyril the Fogman has a very important job. He puts detonators on the tracks to warn the engines when there's fog ahead.
  • (Boom!)
  • Thomas: Oooh.
  • Alec Baldwin: Shivered Thomas as he ran over the detonator.
  • Thomas: That made my axles tingle.
  • Thomas' Driver: Cyril's done his job.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said his driver.
  • Thomas' Driver: We better slow down. There's fog ahead.
  • Thomas: Thank you, Cyril.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas. That night at the sheds, Sir Topham Hatt had something special to show the engines. It was very large and strange looking.
  • Percy: What is it?
  • Alec Baldwin: Asked Percy.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: It's a new invention, a railway foghorn.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: It warns you when there's fog ahead. Like this.
  • (The foghorn begins to wail and bricks from the roof fall down into the floor then it turns off)
  • Percy: That's loud!
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Percy.
  • James: Too loud.
  • Alec Baldwin: Huffed James.
  • Gordon: Sounds like a tugboat to me.
  • Alec Baldwin: Grumbled Gordon. Thomas looked worried.
  • Thomas: What will Cyril do now?
  • Alec Baldwin: He asked.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: It will begin in a much needed rest.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Besides, this new foghorn will be more reliable.
  • Thomas: Poor Cyril.
  • Alec Baldwin: Whispered Thomas.
  • Thomas: He's been scrapped.
  • Alec Baldwin: The next day, Percy was cheerfully chuffing through Misty Valley when suddenly...
  • (The foghorn wails again)
  • Percy: Oh, Jeepers!
  • Alec Baldwin: Exclaimed Percy.
  • Percy: That foghorn is so loud it rattles my dome. It doesn't even make my axles tingle.
  • Percy's Driver: Still, we better slow down.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said his driver.
  • Percy's Driver: There's fog ahead.
  • Alec Baldwin: The foghorn had been so loud that it made the hillside shake. No sooner was Percy out of sight, when one rock fell, then another and another. Before long, the track was blocked and the foghorn was crushed. Not far away. Thomas was puffing happily right on time.
  • (Thomas' whistle toots)
  • Thomas: I can't see a thing!
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas. And then before he could think of anything else...
  • (Crash!)
  • Thomas: Bust my buffers!
  • Alec Baldwin: Cried Thomas.
  • Thomas: What happened to the foghorn.
  • Thomas' Driver: I don't know.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said his driver.
  • Thomas' Driver: But at least nobody's been hurt.
  • Thomas' Fireman: Toby will be coming down the line any minute.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said his fireman.
  • Thomas: If there's no foghorn here...
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas.
  • Thomas: He'll run into us.
  • Voice: Leave it to me.
  • Alec Baldwin: Called a voice from the fog.
  • Thomas: It's Cyril!
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas.
  • Thomas: I hope he's in time.
  • Alec Baldwin: Toby and his coach Henrietta were chuffing along. Toby was looking forward for a well earned drink at the station when...
  • (Boom!)
  • Toby: Fog detonators!
  • Alec Baldwin: Puffed Toby.
  • Toby's Driver: There must be fog ahead.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said his driver.
  • Toby's Driver: We better slow down.
  • Alec Baldwin: And just around the next bend, with his axles still tingling, Toby was very glad they did. Otherwise, they would've crashed into Thomas' wreck. Soon the tracks were cleared and Thomas was back on the rails.
  • Thomas: If it hadn't been for Cyril...
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas.
  • Thomas: Toby might have had a worst accident than me.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Instead of replacing Cyril with a foghorn...
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: We'll replace the foghorn with Cryril. You're cleary more reliable.
  • Cyril: Thank you, sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Cyril.
  • Toby: And thank you.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Toby.
  • Thomas: New inventions are all very well.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Thomas.
  • Percy: Well they don't make my axles tingle.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Percy.
  • (Another passing by sequence occurs and we begin Really Useful Engine)
  • Children: (singing) He's a really useful engine you know. All the other engines they'll tell you so. He huffs and puffs and whistles, rushing to and fro. He's a really useful engine we adore! He's the one, he's the one. He's a really useful engine that we adore. He's the one. He's the number one, Thomas the Tank Engine. He's a really useful engine you know. Cause the Fat Controller, he told him so. Now he's got a branch line to call his very own. He's a really useful engine we adore! He's the one, he's the one. He's a really useful engine that we adore. He's the one. He's the number one, Thomas the Tank Engine. Little blue train, he's always there whenever you need a hand. If you need help with a situation who comes into mind. He's the one, he's the one. He's a really useful engine that we adore. He's the one. He's the number one, Thomas the Tank Engine. He's a really useful engine you know. Maybe little, but he's never slow. Stand back in amazement, just you watch him go. He's a really useful engine we adore! He's the one, he's the one. He's a really useful engine that we adore. He's the one. He's the number one, Thomas the Tank Engine. He's the really useful engine we adore!
  • (Another passing by sequence occurs and we begin Twin Trouble)
  • Alec Baldwin: Donald and Douglas are Scottish twin engines. They are practical peppery and proud. They nearly always work together. One day, Donald and Douglas were chuffing through the countryside hauling a heavy load. Down the line, Trevor the Traction Engine had been struggling with a big cartload of hay. Crossing the tracks, the cart's wheels have broken off. Then Trevor heard a whistle.
  • Trevor: Oh no!
  • Alec Baldwin: Trevor cried. Donald could see the cart.
  • Donald: Stop!
  • Alec Baldwin: He cried. Donald's driver applied the brakes, but it was too late. Luckily, no one was hurt.
  • Donald: Stop being pushy.
  • Alec Baldwin: Donald snapped.
  • Douglas: Don't call me pushy.
  • Alec Baldwin: Douglas snapped back.
  • Donald: You shouldn't have pushed me into the cart.
  • Alec Baldwin: Huffed Donald.
  • Douglas: You pulled me you mean.
  • Alec Baldwin: Argued Douglas.
  • Donald: Didn't!
  • Douglas: Did!
  • Donald: Did not!
  • Douglas: Did too!
  • Alec Baldwin: Before long the track was cleared and Donald and Douglas were on their way. The twins were so cross they refuse to speak to each other for the rest of the day. The next day, Sir Topham Hatt needed an engine to help Duck at the smelter's yards.
  • Donald: May I go, sir?
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Donald eagerly.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I only need one engine.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Not two.
  • Donald: I am only one engine, sir.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Donald.
  • Donald: And I would like to help with Duck.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sir Topham Hatt was surprised but agreed. Thomas was worried.
  • Thomas: Won't you miss one another?
  • Alec Baldwin: He asked.
  • Thomas: I know I missed Annie and Clarabel.
  • Douglas: I'll work better on my own.
  • Alec Baldwin: Sniffed Douglas.
  • Donald: I have work to do.
  • Alec Baldwin: Huffed Donald. At first, Donald enjoyed working with Duck. Then, things started to go wrong.
  • Donald: Did you shunt those freight cars on the other line?
  • Alec Baldwin: Donald asked.
  • Duck: You said you wanted them on the other line.
  • Alec Baldwin: Duck replied.
  • Donald: Not that other line, the other other line.
  • Alec Baldwin: Donald was cross.
  • Donald: Douglas would have known what I've meant.
  • Alec Baldwin: He huffed. Douglas was working on his own. He chuffed dutifully through the beautiful countryside. But Douglas had no one to share it with. Altough he tried not to he was beginning to miss his twin. That night, Douglas' Driver took him to see Donald.
  • Douglas: I was just passing.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Douglas.
  • Donald: Have you come to say you're sorry?
  • Alec Baldwin: Donald sniffed. This made Douglas very cross.
  • Douglas: I've nothing to be sorry for.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said and steamed away in a huff. The next day, Donald was in a bad mood. Duck could see he was getting too close for the buffers.
  • Duck: Look out!
  • Alec Baldwin: Duck shouted, but it was too late. Donald's driver was very cross.
  • Donald's Driver: This would've happened if you were working with Douglas.
  • Alec Baldwin: He said. Donald knew he was right and Duck knew he couldn't pull Donald back onto the rails. So he went for help. Douglas was sadly finishing his work as Duck steamed into the depot.
  • Duck: Donald is in trouble.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Duck.
  • Douglas: Donald in trouble?
  • Alec Baldwin: Douglas cried.
  • Douglas: I'm on my way!
  • Alec Baldwin: And he steamed off as fast as he could. Douglas struggled and struggled, he finally pulled his twin gently back on to the tracks. He was relief Donald wasn't hurt.
  • Donald: Thank you.
  • Alec Baldwin: Donald said.
  • Donald: And I'm sorry.
  • Douglas: No, I'm sorry.
  • Alec Baldwin: Said Douglas.
  • Donald: I'm sorry.
  • Alec Baldwin: Insisted Donald.
  • Duck: Don't argue about who's sorry.
  • Alec Baldwin: Chuckled Duck.
  • Duck: Just be glad you're back together.
  • Alec Baldwin: And they were.
  • (Another passing by sequence occurs and we begin Sir Topham Hatt)
  • (Gordon's whistle toots)
  • Children (singing): His name is Sir Topham Hatt. Some people say he's - Stout!! Rather rotund, really quite round. But he doesn't see it like that.
  • Girl: He's considered he's a gentleman of merit.
  • Boy: With a railway exquisitely fine.
  • Children: (singing) But his main aim is to see that his trains run right on time. Sir Top, Sir Topham Hatt. He's the head of the railway. There is no doubt about that controller of the line. It's as plain as plain can be for everyone to see that it's the fat controller's railway. One day he was having breakfast, when Thomas decided to call. He arrived unexpected and quite uninvited straight through the dining room wall.
  • Boy: My goodness! Said the controller. Why didn't you knock at the door?
  • Children: (singing) This won't do at all just look at my wall and my breakfast on the floor. Sir Top, Sir Topham Hatt. He's the head of the railway there is no doubt about that controller of the line. It's plain as plain can be for everyone to see that it's the fat controller's railway. He's so proud of his engines each and everyone. And though he's strict and meticulous, favorites he has none. If ever there is trouble, you know who will be there.
  • Girl: If there's ever a crash a smash or a muddle, he's there on the double, no trouble.
  • Children: (singing) Cause it's the fat controller's railway. When Henry stayed in the tunnel, everyone tried to push. But Sir Topham Hatt would have none of that.
  • Boy: My doctor has forbidden me to push.
  • Children: (singing) And one day the wind blew his hat off.
  • Girl: A goat in the field saw his chance.
  • Children: (singing) He just picked up the hat, said thank you for that and ate it up for lunch. Sir Top, Sir Topham Hatt. He's the head of the railway. There is no doubt about that controller of the line. It's plain as plain can be for everyone to see that it's the fat controller's railway. Sir Top, Sir Topham Hatt. He's the head of the railway. There is no doubt about that controller of the line. It's plain as plain can be for everyone to see that it's the fat controller's railway. The fat controller's railway. Sir Top-ham Hatt.
