Philip Edward Hartman (born September 24, 1948-died May 28, 1998) was a Canadian American actor best known for his work on Saturday Night Live.

Hartman was married to Award-winning Broadway Actress, Singer, Dancer and Comedienne Brynn Omdahl Hartman since 1987; the couple had two children.

He voiced Lionel Hutz, Troy McClure, and Lyle Lanley on The Simpsons, Calaboose Cal on Tom & Jerry Kids, Jiji in Kiki's Delivery Service, and Air Conditioner and Hanging Lamp in The Brave Little Toaster.

On May 27, 1998, Phil was shot and killed by his wife, Brynn.
