Transcript[]

Narrator: "Piglet works in the yard at the big station.

He loves playing jokes, but they can get him into trouble.

One morning, he was very cheeky indeed."

Piglet: "Hurry up, Sir Ector, the flowers are ready!"

Narrator: "Sir Ector thought he was late."

Piglet: "Ha ha ha!"

Narrator: "Laughed Piglet, and showed him a line of dirty pirates.

Sir Ector thought how to pay Piglet out.

Next, it was Donald's turn."

Piglet: "Stay in the house today, Donald. Mickey Mouse will come and see you."

Donald Duck: "Ah,"

Narrator: "Thought Donald."

Donald Duck: "Mickey knows I'm a fine duck. He wants me to deliver a special."

Narrator: "Donald's driver and fireman could not make him move. The other Disney Characters grumbled dreadfully. They had to do Donald's work as well as their own.

At last, Captain Greer arrived."

Captain Greer: "Show a leg, Donald. You can't stay here all day."

Donald Duck: "Mickey told me to stay here. He sent a message this morning."

Captain Greer: "He did not. How could he? He's away for a week."

Donald Duck: "Oh!"

Narrator: "Said Donald."

Donald Duck: "Oh! Where's Piglet?"

Narrator: "Piglet had wisely disappeared.

When Mickey came back, he did see Donald, and Piglet too. Both Disney Characters wished he hadn't.

One morning, Piglet was careless."

Piglet: "I say, you Disney Characters, I'm to take some pirates to Pongo's junction. Mickey chose me especially. He must know I'm a really useful piglet."

Donald Duck: "More likely, he wants you out the way."

Narrator: "Grunted Donald.

Sir Ector looked across to Donald. They were making a plan."

Sir Ector: "Donald and I were just speaking about signals at the junction. We can't be too careful about signals, but then, I needn't say that to a really useful piglet like you, Piglet."

Narrator: "Piglet felt flattered."

Donald Duck: "We have spoken of backing signals."

Narrator: "Put in Donald."

Donald Duck: "They need extra special care, you know. Would you like me to explain?"

Piglet: "No thank you, Donald."

Narrator: "Said Piglet."

Piglet: "I know all about signals."

Narrator: "Piglet was a little worried."

Piglet: "I wonder what backing signals are."

Narrator: "He thought."

Piglet: "Never mind, I'll manage."

Narrator: "He puffed crossly to his pirates, and felt better.

He came to a signal."

Piglet: "Bother! It's at 'Danger'."

Narrator: "The signal moved to show 'Line Clear'. Its arm moved up, instead of down. Piglet had never seen that sort of signal before."

Piglet: "Down means 'Go', and up means 'Stop', so upper still must mean 'Go Back'. I know! It's one of those backing signals."

Piglet's Driver: "Come on, Piglet!"

Narrator: "Said his driver."

Piglet's Driver: "Off we go. Stop! You're going the wrong way!"

Piglet: "But it's a backing signal!"

Narrator: "Piglet protested, and told him about Sir Ector and Donald. The driver laughed, and explained."

Piglet: "Oh, dear."

Narrator: "Said Piglet."

Piglet: "Let's start quickly before they see us."

Narrator: "He was too late. Sir Ector saw everything.

That night, the big Disney Characters talked about signals.

They thought the subject was funny. Piglet thought they were being very silly."
