Narrator: "Pinkie Pie is a lively little earth pony. She's very quick. She also likes to be very busy. Any job is a good job for Pinkie Pie.
One day, Pinkie and Rarity were at the town hall. Hoity Toity had some important news."
Hoity Toity: "The carnival special is waiting at Ponyville Docks."
Narrator: "Pinkie was excited. She hoped Hoity Toity would ask her to pull the carnival special."
Hoity Toity: "Rarity, you must pull the carnival special."
Narrator: "Pinkie was disappointed."
Hoity Toity: "Pinkie Pie, you must be Rarity's back pony."
Narrator: "Pinkie didn't want to be the back pony. She wanted to pull the carnival special on her own."
Rarity: "I have a lot to do today. After we pull the carnival special, I have to collect the milk from High Farm."
Narrator: "Pinkie Pie puffed sadly along. She wished she could pull a special on her own. Then Pinkie had an idea. If she arrived at the docks before Rarity, she could take the carnival special.
Pinkie Pie: "Then Rarity could puff straight to Hill Farm. That would really help Rarity."
Narrator: "So Pinkie raced off as fast as her legs would pump.
Pinkie puffed alongside the carnival special."
Pinkie Pie: "This is a very long load."
Narrator: "Pinkie couldn't see that Rarity was already coupled up, and waiting for Pinkie. Pinkie quickly coupled up to the carnival special."
Pinkie Pie: "Rarity will be pleased."
Narrator: "She thought. Still, Pinkie didn't know that Rarityy was on the other end of the load. Then there was trouble. Pinkie huffed and puffed. She heaved and hauled. The couplings groaned and strained until one of them snapped."
Pinkie Pie: "Hooray! I'm pulling the carnival special."
Narrator: "But Pinkie had left half of it behind with Rarity.
Pinkie Pie puffed proudly along. The children were very excited to see Pinkie pulling the carnival special. That made Pinkie happy. Then there was trouble. Another coupling snapped. Up ahead, Angel was taking children to the carnival. Pinkie chuffed by. Angel started to shout."
Pinkie Pie: "He's shouting at my carnival special!"
Narrator: "Thought Pinkie. But Angel was shouting because the coconut wagon was rolling towards the level crossing! It smashed against the gate. Coconuts rolled everywhere. The level crossing was blocked. But Pinkie Pie didn't know. She puffed happily on. Then another coupling snapped.
Pinkie Pie passed Noteworthy in a siding. Noteworthy was waiting to puff onto the main road. The points changed. Noteworthy blew his whistle loudly."
Pinkie Pie: "He's whistling at my carnival special!"
Narrator: "Thought Pinkie proudly."
Noteworthy: "Oh, my!"
Narrator: "But Noteworthy was whistling because the wagon of sugar was now rolling towards him. Noteworthy was covered in pink sugar from head to hoof. But Pinkie Pie didn't know. She puffed proudly on.
Pinkie Pie steamed up Big Macintosh's Hill. Then another coupling snapped. She heard a pony's whistle."
Pinkie Pie: "They're whistling at my carnival special too!"
Narrator: "Pinkie thought happily. But it was Rarity with the rest of the carnival special. Pinkie's flatbed was now rolling back towards Rarity. It smashed into Rarity. Seats from the big wheel clattered and clanged all over the path. Rarity was stuck.
Pinkie Pie chuffed into the Train Station. Nobody waved or whistled. Hoity Toity was cross."
Hoity Toity: "I told you to be Rarity's back pony!"
Pinkie Pie: "But I brought the carnival special all on my own, sir. I wanted to help Rarity."
Hoity Toity: "You haven't helped anyone. You have caused confusion and delay! You've left half the load! Now there'll be no carnival for the children."
Narrator: "Pinkie felt terrible. She had wanted everyone to be proud of her, and now they were cross."
Pinkie Pie: Please, sir. I know just what to do. I'm a very quick pony. I can collect all the wagons. Then I will be Rarity's back pony, and we will deliver the carnival special in time."
Narrator: "So Pinkie whooshed off as fast as her hooves could run.
First Pinkie Pie collected Bulk Biceps. Then she pulled him as quickly as she could to Rarity.
Rarity's path was still blocked."
Pinkie Pie: "I'm so sorry, Rarity. I only wanted to help you. Bulk Biceps will clear the path. I will collect the other wagons. Then we can deliver the carnival special together."
Rarity: "Thank you, Pinkie."
Narrator: "Pinkie left Bulk Biceps, and she raced away to collect the first wagon.
She picked up the coconut car. Then Pinkie collected a new wagon of sugar, and she raced back to Rarity.
Pinkie Pie had been very quick. Bulk Biceps had just loaded the seats back on the flatbed."
Pinkie Pie: "I'm ready to be your back pony now."
Narrator: "And together, they set off up Big Macintosh's Hill.
Pinkie Pie and Rarity arrived at the Train Station. All the children waved at the two ponies."
Pinkie Pie: "We have delivered the carnival special in time."
Narrator: "That evening, Pinkie Pie and Rarity watched the children at the carnival. The children were having a wonderful time."
Pinkie Pie: "I hope we can work together on another special."
Rarity: "The sooner, the better."
Pinkie Pie: "Working with you is the best of all!"
Narrator: "Pinkie Pie couldn't have felt happier."
