Narrator: "One morning, Pipsqueak was at Sweet Apple Acres. He was doing his favorite job: delivering the mail. The mail for Sweet Apple Acres was being unloaded. But Pipsqueak was daydreaming. As Filthy Rich whistled from the other side, Pipsqueak mistook a man waving a green handkerchief for the guard waving his flag. And Pipsqueak set off too soon."

Workman: "Stop! You're not unloaded yet!"

(Mail bag bursts open)

Workman: "Oh!"

Narrator: "Pipsqueak had to wait while all the letters were recovered."

Spike: "Oh, Pipsqueak. That's bad luck."

Snips: (Chuckles) "That's not bad luck, is it, Snails?"

Snails: "Quite right, Snips. That's carelessness." (Chuckles)

Pipsqueak: (Sighs) "Now I'm running late."

Narrator: "Pipsqueak was hurrying to make up for lost time when he spotted something on the path."

Pipsqueak: "Oh no! Pumpkins on the path!"

Pipsqueak: "Ah! What a mess! And my hooves are all gummed up and sticky."

Narrator: "Poor Pipsqueak would have to wait until the mess was cleared up. He wasn't having a good day."

Mr. Waddle: "Ooh, Pipsqueak, what happened?"

Pipsqueak: "Oh, Mr. Waddle. I've been running into trouble all day."

Mr. Waddle: "Don't worry. You're just having an unlucky day."

Narrator: "Pipsqueak remembered what Spike had said to him earlier."

Spike (voice over): "Oh, Pipsqueak. That's bad luck. Bad luck, bad luck."

Narrator: "Pipsqueak wondered if maybe he was an unlucky filly.

At Sugar Cube Corner, Hoity Toity had some strong words for Snips and Snails."

Hoity Toity: "Your careless work this morning has caused confusion and delay. To make sure no more creates fall off your changelings, one of you is going to have to push from the back."

Snips: "You can be the back pony, Snails. It was your careless driving that causes the creates that bounce off."

Snails: "What? No way! I'm not going at the back."

Hoity Toity: (Clears throat)

Snips: "Okay."

Narrator: "At last, Pipsqueak arrived at the castle to deliver the mail. He mentioned his bad luck to Flash Sentry."

Flash Sentry: "Bad luck? You still got you four legs and tail. You should count yourself a very lucky filly."

Pipsqueak: "I know, but today..."

Flash Sentry: "You know, a lot of ponies used to worry about being unlucky. Some would carry a lucky charm to bring them good luck. Ha! I still have my lucky horseshoe."

Pipsqueak: "I could do with some good luck today."

Flash Sentry: "I tell you what. Why don't I give you my lucky horseshoe?"

Pipsqueak: "Thank you, Flash! Thank you so much! I'm sure from now on, I'm going to be super lucky."

Flash Sentry: "That's right, Pipsqueak. It's bound to make all the difference."

Narrator: "Pipsqueak's hooves were still sticky from hitting the pumpkins earlier. This made him jump suddenly as he started out of the station. He didn't notice the horseshoe rattle loose."

(Horseshoe falls off Pipsqueak)

Flash Sentry: "Pipsqueak! Hey, hey Pipsqueak!" (Groans) "Oh dear."

Narrator: "The next day, Pipsqueak was on time when he went to collect and deliver the mail. And he didn't have any accidents. In fact, Pipsqueak was having such a lucky day that Hoity Toity had entrusted him with a really important special."

Hoity Toity: "Now then, Pipsqueak, I would like you to take this gift from me to the Duchess of Maretonia."

Pipsqueak: "No problem, sir."

Narrator: "As Pipsqueak walked proudly up to the summer house, he put all his good luck down to his lucky charm."

Duchess of Maretonia: (Gasps) "Ah."

Narrator: "Later that day, things were still going well for Pipsqueak, but not so well for Snips and Snails."

Snips: "This is all your fault, Snails!"

Snails: "No, it's your fault, Snips! You were pushing too hard from the back."

Snips: "No! You were pulling too fast from the front."

Narrator: "Pipsqueak felt even luckier when he saw Snips and Snails. He wanted to help."

Pipsqueak: "Snips, why don't you try and pull Snails back to safety?"

Snips: "I tried that Pipsqueak, but Snails is too heavy."

Snails: "I'm not heavy!"

Snips: "Yes, you are! You weigh tons!"

Pipsqueak: "Maybe I can pull Snails back."

Snails: "Are you sure you can do it?"

Pipsqueak: "Oh, yes. I've got a lucky horseshoe."

Snips: "A lucky horseshoe? Where?"

Pipsqueak: "But it's right..." (Gasps) "It's gone! Oh! Oh no! I'm so unlucky I've even lost my lucky charm. Oh no! Oh no!"

Snails: "Hey! What about me?"

Pipsqueak: "Sorry, Snails. I can help you now."

Snips: "It's no good, Snails. I'll have to try again on my own." (Grunts) "Ooh!"

Snails: "Whoa! Help Snips!"

Snips: (Groans) "I'm trying! I can't hang on much longer."

Pipsqueak: (Gasps) "Lucky charm or no lucky charm, Snips and Snails need my help."

Narrator: "So Pipsqueak was hooked up to Snips and he started to pull.

Then Hoity Toity arrived just in time to see little Pipsqueak pull Snails to safety."

Snails: "Hooray!"

Pipsqueak: "Phew!"

Snails: "Thanks, Pipsqueak."

Snips: "Yes, thanks, Pipsqueak."

Narrator: "Hoity Toity was very impressed."

Hoity Toity: "Well done, Pipsqueak! Well done! You are a really useful filly."

Pipsqueak: "Thank you, sir." (Gasps)

Narrator: "Then Pipsqueak remembered something."

Pipsqueak: "Goodbye."

Hoity Toity: "Now then, you two. Who is going to tell me what happened this time?"

Snails: "It was your fault, Snips. You tell him."

Snips: "You're the one who came off the path. You tell him."

Snails: "You pushed me!"

Hoity Toity: (Groans)

Snips: "No, I didn't!"

Snails: "Yes, you did!"

Snips: "No, I didn't!"

Snails: "Yes, you did."

Snips: "No, I didn't!"

Snails: "Yes, you did!"

Snips: "No, I didn't!"

Snails: "You did!"

Snips: "I didn't!"

Narrator: "Pipsqueak arrived at the castle grounds. He had to tell Flash Sentry that he'd lost his lucky horseshoe."

Pipsqueak: "Your horseshoe brought me luck, Flash. It was a really lucky charm. But then, I'm so sorry! I lost it."

Flash Sentry: "But Pipsqueak, it's here. When you left, you dropped it. You never had it with you in the first place."

Pipsqueak: "So, all the good luck I had earlier; delivering the mail and getting the special..."

Flash Sentry: "That was your own luck. It happens... sometimes good, sometimes bad."

Pipsqueak: "You know, Flash, I don't think I believe in lucky charms anymore."

Flash Sentry: "Well, I don't really believe in lucky charms either. I was just trying to cheer you up."

Pipsqueak: "Thank you, Flash. It worked!"

Flash Sentry: "Well, that was lucky then."

Pipsqueak and Flash Sentry: (Laugh)

Narrator: "Pipsqueak realized that he didn't need a lucky charm to do his job. He just had to work hard and believe that he could be a really useful filly."
