Narrator: "Plucky was enoying his life on Acme Acres, but he still had a lot to learn."
King Acorn: "You're a special green mallard."
Narrator: "Said King Acorn."
King Acorn: "You can tackle Swans or Perfectoids quite easily, but you must learn by your mistakes."
Narrator: "Plucky knew what King Acorn meant. He could well remember that dreadful accident on his first day."
Sonic: "Be careful with the swans, Plucky."
Narrator: "Said kind little Sonic."
Sonic: "They don't like being bumped."
Narrator: "Everyone came to admire Plucky."
Plucky: "I'm a really splendid duck!"
Narrator: "He thought, and suddenly danced up a sweat.
A shower of sweat fell on King Acorn's nice new crown.
Just then, the animator blew his whistle, and Plucky thought they had better go."
Plucky: "Go on, go on!"
Narrator: "He puffed to Sonic."
Sonic: "Don't push, don't push!"
Narrator: "Replied Sonic.
The swans were grumbling, too."
Perfecto Prep Swans: "Don't go so fast! Don't go so fast!"
Narrator: "But Plucky didn't listen.
When at last, they stopped at the next station, two swans were beyond the platform. They had to go back to drop the passengers off. But no one seemed to know about King Acorn's new crown, so Plucky felt happier.
Presently, they came to the station, where Buster was waiting with his two ducks."
Buster: "Hello, Plucky!"
Narrator: "Said Buster."
Buster: "Feeling better? That's right.
Oh, that's my animator's whistle. I must go. I don't know what King Acorn would do without me to run this forest."
Narrator: "And he puffed off importantly.
Sonic and Plucky passed the field where Plucky had his accident. The fence was mended and the cows were back again.
They ended their journey, and rested before setting off for home. Plucky was still wondering what King Acorn would have to say about his new crown.
Next morning, he spoke severely to Plucky."
King Acorn: "If you can't behave, I shall take away your green feathers and have you painted blue."
Narrator: "Plucky didn't like that at all.
He was very rough with the grumbling swans as he brought them to the platform."
Plucky: "Don't talk! Come on!"
Narrator: "He called to them."
Plucky: "Knuckles never has to fetch his own swans."
Narrator: "He thought to himself."
Plucky: "And he only has red fur."
Narrator: "To make Plucky even more cross, this time, no one came near him."
Plucky: "I'll show them!"
Narrator: "He thought."
Plucky: "They think Knuckles is the only animal who can take swans.
Hurry, hurry, hurry!"
Narrator: "Puffed Plucky."
Perfecto Prep Swans: "You're going too fast! You're going too fast!"
Narrator: "Replied the swans.
Plucky laughed and tried to go faster, but the swans wouldn't let him."
Perfecto Prep Swans: "We're going to stop."
Narrator: "They said."
Perfecto Prep Swans: "We're going to stop."
Plucky: "What's the matter?"
Narrator: "Plucky asked his animator."
Plucky's First Animator: "The swans are hard on. Rip in the leotard, most likely. You've banged the swans hard enough to make a rip in anything."
Plucky's Second Animator: "How shall we mend it?"
Narrator: "Said the second animator."
Plucky's First Animator: "We'll do it with newspaper and a leather bootlace."
Narrator: "Replied the first animator."
Plucky's Second Animator: "Well, where is the bootlace coming from?"
Narrator: "Asked the second animator."
Plucky's First Animator: "Ask the passengers."
Narrator: "Said the first animator."
Plucky's Second Animator: "You have a leather bootlace there, I see, sir."
Narrator: "Said the second animator to Bushwacker Bob, a smartly dressed man."
Plucky's Second Animator: "Please give it to me."
Bushwacker Bob: "I won't."
Narrator: "Said Bushwacker Bob."
Plucky's Second Animator: "Then,"
Narrator: "Said the second animator,"
Plucky's Second Animator: "I'm afraid we'll all have to stay where we are."
Narrator: "The passengers all said what a bad city it was. Then they told Bob how bad he was instead. Everyone was very cross.
At last, he handed his laces over.
The first animator tied a pad of newspaper tightly around the hole in the leotard, and Plucky was able to take the swans.
But he was a sadder and wiser Plucky, and took care never to bump swans again."
