Winneconne WI: April 5, 1921: After winning two matches here, Carl Van Wurden challenges Henry Stoeff of Oshkosh ... "If Mr. Stoeff intends to wrestle here any more I think it is time he opened his eyes and answered my challenges which I am tired of hurling at him." ... Stoeff, asked by the Oshkosh Daily Northwestern if he would meet Van Wurden, said "I would like to meet all challengers, but I have six matches already signed up and since I can only hold a match about every ten days, the season will be over before I can get a crack at Van Wurden." ... The paper added Stoeff is probably in no condition to wrestle anyone right now, having just had his tonsils removed ... He is probably next in action April 23 against Jimmy (Young) Demetral
