Lincoln NE Daily Star: May 16, 1916: Lightweight champion Owen Daily is said ready to tackle an "unknown" in a bout at Waterloo, Ia., for a purse of $250, probably toward the end of this month. "Daily has been keeping in condition on his Kearney County farm and is ready for the gong, according to manager Ray Page of Friend, Neb. The idea of the Waterloo backer in keeping the identity of his grappler a secret is not bothering Page, who hasw a well developed hunch that the lightweight wrestler does not live who is capable of pinning Daily when the champion is in prime fettle for a fray."
