  • Narrator: Henry was waiting at a junction when a Horrid Lorry arrived.

Dirty Objects/Percy in a Mess

  • Edward and Rosie are enjoying their new job in the island of sodor, but they do look old fashioned and need new paint.
  • Percy was very rude whenever he saw them.
  • Percy: Ugh. What dirty objects.
  • Narrator: He would say.
  • At last, Edward lost patience.
  • Edward: Percy,
  • Narrator: He asked.
  • Edward: Why are you Green?
  • Percy: I am a splendind engine.
  • Narrator: Answered Percy.
  • Percy: Ready for anything. You never see my paint dirty.

  • Narrator: Said Edward innocently.

  • Narrator: Percy went greener than ever and snorted off. It was such an insult to be reminded of the time a bootlace had been used to mend a hole in his coaches.
  • At the end of the line, Percy left his coaches and got ready for his next train. It was a slow goods, stopping at every station to pick up and set down Trucks. Percy hated slow goods trains.

  • Narrator: Starting with only a few, he pickled up more and more trucks at each station, till' he had a long line.

Thomas and the Famous Visitor

  • Thomas: I hope the shed is empty tonight.
  • Narrator: He huffed to himself.
  • But all the engines were there waiting.
  • A Voice: Never trust armorless engines.
  • Narrator: Said a voice from somewhere behind him.
  • A Voice: They aren't respectable.

A Close Shave/A Close Shave for Gordon

  • Gordon's Driver: Hurry, Gordon, Hurry!
  • Narrator: Said the driver. They raced through Smudger's station, but the Trucks were catching up.
  • Gordon's Driver: As fast as we can, then they'll catch us gradually!
  • Narrator: The Driver was gaining control.
  • Gordon's Driver: Another clear mile, and we'll do it!
  • Gordon: Oh, Glory, look at that!
  • Narrator: Percy was just pulling out on their line from the station ahead. Any minute, there could be a crash!
  • Gordon's Driver: It's up to you now, Gordon!
  • Narrator: Cried his driver.
  • Narrator: Gordon put every ounce of weight and steam against the Trucks.
  • Gordon: It's too late!
  • Narrator: Gordon groaned, and shut his eyes.
  • Narrator: He veered into a siding where Randy Marsh, a man Barber set up shop. He was shaving a costumer.
  • (CRASH!)
  • Narrator: The silly Trucks had knocked their driver down and left him far behind after he had whistled a warning.
  • Narrator: But the Trucks didn't care. They were feeling very pleased with themselves.
  • Gordon: Beg pardon, sir.
  • Narrator: Gasped Gordon.
  • Gordon: Excuse my intrusion.
  • Randy Marsh: No, I won't!
  • Narrator: Said Randy Marsh.
  • Randy Marsh: You've frightened my customers. I'll teach you!
  • Narrator: And he lathered Gordon's face all over.
  • Narrator: Poor Gordon.
  • Narrator: Henry was helping to pull the Trucks away, when The Angry Policeman arrived.
  • Randy Marsh: I do not like engines popping through my walls!
  • Narrator: Fumed Randy Marsh.
  • The Angry Policeman: I appreciate your feelings.
  • Narrator: Said The Angry Policeman.
  • The Angry Policeman: But you must know that this engine and her driver have prevented a very serious accident. it was a very close, um, shave.
  • Randy Marsh: Oh.
  • Narrator: Said Randy Marsh.
  • Randy Marsh: Oh. Excuse me.
  • Narrator: He filled a basin of water to wash Gordon's face.
  • Randy Marsh: I'm sorry, Gordon. I didn't know you were being a brave engine.
  • Gordon: That's all right, sir. I didn't know that either.
  • The Angry Policeman: You were very brave, indeed.
  • Narrator: Said The Angry Policeman.
  • The Angry Policeman: I'm proud of you.

Henry Comes to Breakfast

  • Narrator: Patrick and Edward were still asleep. Henry suddenly remembered.
  • Henry: Silly stick-in-the-muds!
  • Narrator: He chuckled.
  • Henry: I'll show them. My driver said I could manage without him. I'll just go out, then I'l stop and WHEESH! That'll make them jump.
  • Narrator: Henry thought he was being clever. Really, he was only moving because a careless cleaner had meddled with his controls. He soon found his mistake. He tried to wheesh, but he couldn't. He tried to stop, but he couldn't. He just kept rolling along. He didn't dare look at what was coming next; There was Skipper's house. Skipper was just about to have breakfast.
  • Henry: Horrors!
  • Narrator: Cried Henry, and shut his eyes.
  • (CRASH!)
  • Narrator: The house rocked, broked glass tinkled, plaster was everywhere. Henry had collected a bush on his travels. He peered into the room through its leaves. He couldn't speak.
  • Skipper was furious. Mrs. Kyndley picked up his plate.
  • Mrs. Kyndley: You miserable engine!
  • Narrator: She scolded.
  • Mrs. Kyndley: Just look what you've done to our breakfast! Now I shall have to cook some more!
  • Narrator: She banged the door.
  • Narrator: More plaster fell. This time, it fell on Henry. Henry felt depressed.
  • Narrator: Workmen propped up the house with strong poles, and laid a path through the garden.
  • Narrator: Meanwhile Sir Handel and Peter Sam arrived.
  • Sir Handel: Don't embarrass yourself, Henry.
  • Peter Sam: We'll soon have you back on the rails.
  • Narrator: They laughed.
  • Narrator: Sir Handel and Peter Sam, working hard, managed to haul Henry back to safety. Bits of fencing, a bush, and a broken window frame festuned her front, which was badly twisted. The twins laughed and left him.

Henry and the Missing Christmas Tree

  • The Angry Policeman: Ladies, gentlemen, and children, I give you three cheers for Henry and all his friends who have made this occasion possible!
  • Narrator: Suddenly, there was a strange whirring sound. Patrick and Edward smiled. They knew who it was.
  • With landing lights shining brightly, Evil Harold the Helicopter touched down gently in the snow, bringing the greatest surprise of all; Father Christmas! Everyone cheered, and the party began.
  • Henry: It's no fun getting stuck in the snow,
  • Narrator: Henry whispered to Patrick,
  • Henry: But it was worth it for this party. Happy Christmas, Patrick, Happy Christmas, everybody!
