Raimundo Goes Buzz Buzz

  • George Carlin: Heathcliff the Cat was enjoying his work at the Cartoon University. Birds were singing and apples were ripening on the trees. It was a splendid day.
  • Raimundo: Hello, Heathcliff.
  • George Carlin: Said Raimundo.
  • Raimundo: You look as bright and cheerful as my red paint.
  • Heathcliff: Oh I am.
  • George Carlin: Replied Heathcliff.
  • Raimundo: What's that noise?
  • Heathcliff: It's the bees.
  • George Carlin: Laughed Heathcliff.
  • Heathcliff: They're all in these boxy things called beehives. I'm taking them to the station. The vicar says his bees make good honey and he's giving some of them to his friends.
  • George Carlin: Just then, Donkey Kong hummed in.
  • Donkey Kong: Take care you two. Don't make the bees angry. They might sting you.
  • George Carlin: Raimundo didn't like being told what to do by a diesel and he buzzed away.
  • Donkey Kong: Goodbye, Heathcliff.
  • George Carlin: Called Donkey Kong and set off to see Virgil at the next station. Bumpty and Raphael were busy arranging Beedrill. But they scampered off when they saw Donkey Kong.
  • Donkey Kong: I remember the first time I met those two.
  • George Carlin: Laughed Donkey Kong.
  • Donkey Kong: They nearly made my eyes pop out. Kevin soon put a stop in their games.
  • Virgil: Kevin is the only one who can keep Bumpty and Raphael in order.
  • George Carlin: Chuckled Virgil.
  • Virgil: I sometimes call them "The Bees".
  • Donkey Kong: A good name.
  • George Carlin: Replied Donkey Kong.
  • Donkey Kong: Their terrors when the start buzzing around.
  • George Carlin: Raimundo bustled in.
  • Raimundo: What's that, Virgil? Are you afraid of bees? They're only insects after all, so don't let that buzz box diesel tell you different.
  • Virgil: His name is Donkey Kong, and he didn't. We...
  • Raimundo: I wouldn't care, if hundreds were swarming around. I'd just blow smoke and make them buzz off.
  • Virgil: Buzz, buzz, buzz.
  • George Carlin: Retorted Virgil. The next morning, Raimundo arrived at the station to collect his coaches. The passengers were excited and keened to get on board. The platform was crowded and the porter was in a hurry.
  • Porter: Mind your backs.
  • George Carlin: He shouted. Then there was trouble. The beehive fell and broke open. The station cleared like magic. Raimundo heard a familiar buzzing. The bees were to cold to be cross so they buzzed around the fireman hoping he'd mend their hive. But he didn't understand, nor did his driver. So the bees turned to Raimundo. His boiler was nice and warm.
  • Raimundo: Buzz off! Buzz off!
  • George Carlin: Hissed Raimundo. One bee burnt its foot.
  • Bee: Ooh! Aah! Ooh! Ooh!
  • George Carlin: The bee thought Raimundo had burnt him on purpose. So it stung Raimundo right back on the nose.
  • (Doink!)
  • Raimundo: Eeeeeeeeeeee!
  • George Carlin: Whistled Raimundo. He had had enough so had his fireman and driver. They didn't notice till too late that they had left all their coaches behind. They tried everything to get rid of the bees. First they spun on the turntable but to no avail. They tried washing them off but the bees clung harder to Raimundo's warm boiler. Then they tried smoking them off by going through a long tunnel. But still the bees wouldn't go away.
  • Driver: It's no good, Raimundo.
  • George Carlin: Said his driver.
  • Driver: We'll just have to get back to the orchard and fetch another hive.
  • George Carlin: Raimundo's reply was drowned by the sound of buzzing. The Vicar was waiting anxiously for Raimundo. When he arrived, the buzz swarm straight into their new home.
  • Driver: Come on, Raimundo.
  • George Carlin: Said his driver.
  • Driver: What you need now is a good hosedown.
  • George Carlin: Later that evening, Raimundo was resting in the shed when the Vicar came to see him.
  • Vicar: Thank you for saving my bees.
  • George Carlin: He said.
  • Vicar: It's the pity it's not Christmas, then we can call you Raimundo the Red-Nosed boy.
  • George Carlin: Everyone laughed even Raimundo. But instead, they decided to call Raimundo "The Bees Knees", which means they thought he was more useful than ever.

One Good Turn

  • George Carlin: Bumpty and Raphael are the most mischievous birds working on Steven's town. They're kept busy pushing and pulling Beedrill up and down the line that runs from the china clay works to the harbour yard. They like to have fun together and often play tricks on the workmen. But sometimes, their teasing ways can get them into trouble. One morning, Steven came to see them.
  • Steven: Important goods have arrived in the big yard. Bumpty and Raphael, I need you to help the other characters.
  • Bumpty and Raphael: Oh, yes, of course, sir.
  • George Carlin: Replied the twins. They set off happily on their important mission. Donkey Kong was resting in the yard when suddenly he heard a pair of familiar whistles.
  • Donkey Kong: Hmm.
  • George Carlin: Sighed Donkey Kong.
  • Donkey Kong: Here comes trouble.
  • Bumpty: Steven told us you were tired.
  • George Carlin: Teased Bumpty.
  • Bumpty: He asked us to take all your Beedrill for you.
  • Donkey Kong: You two never stopped do you? But I'm wise to your pranks and we do need help here.
  • George Carlin: The twins were soon busy pushing and pulling the heavy cars into place. At last, the day's work was done. The twins now became excited. They were going to use the turntable for the first time. Bumpty went first.
  • Bumpty: This is fun!
  • George Carlin: He shrieked to Raphael. He didn't want to move off at all. The foreman stopped the turntable.
  • Foreman: Please make way for the other characters.
  • George Carlin: He ordered. Bumpty did so, but the foreman had accidentally stopped the turntable in the wrong place. Bumpty was on the wrong track and there was Raphael puffing directly toward him. The characters came to a grinding halt. They gazed grimly at each other.
  • Bumpty: I was here first!
  • George Carlin: Said Bumpty.
  • Raphael: But you're in my way!
  • George Carlin: Protested Raphael.
  • Raphael: You'll have to back up again!
  • Bumpty: I won't!
  • Raphael: You will!
  • Bumpty: I won't!
  • George Carlin: Steven came to stop the noise.
  • Steven: If you don't behave, I shall not allow you here again.
  • George Carlin: The next day, Raphael was still grumpy.
  • Raphael: That Bumpty! Imagine getting in my way on the turntable. He's a really silly bird!
  • Donkey Kong: The way I heard it.
  • George Carlin: Sighed Donkey Kong.
  • Donkey Kong: It sounded like you were both to blame.
  • Raphael: Pooh! You must have heard it all wrong!
  • George Carlin: The twins grumbled about each other all day. Even kind Kevin lost patience.
  • Kevin: All this grumbling spreads bad atmosphere in the yard.
  • Donkey Kong: You're quite right and that's why I come up with a plan.
  • George Carlin: Donkey Kong whispered his plan to Kevin. Then his driver told Steven.
  • Steven: I'll start making arrangements right away.
  • George Carlin: The next morning he called Bumpty and Raphael into the yard.
  • Steven: Donkey Kong is taking a special train to the harbour. His regular heavy goods train is waiting on the siding. You can pull it together.
  • Raphael: But...
  • Bumpty: But...
  • George Carlin: Protested Bumpty and Raphael who were still not speaking to each other.
  • Steven: Good. I knew I can rely on you two.
  • Raphael: I'll take the train myself.
  • George Carlin: Huffed Raphael.
  • Bumpty: Go right ahead.
  • George Carlin: Said Bumpty. Raphael was coupled up to the train of Beedrill, but they were too heavy for him to move alone.
  • Bumpty: Go on.
  • George Carlin: Teased Bumpty.
  • Raphael: I can't!
  • George Carlin: Said Raphael. Then suddenly, both twins laughed.
  • Bumpty: I don't think we'll take turns this time, Raphael.
  • George Carlin: Said Bumpty.
  • Bumpty: I think we better pull together!
  • George Carlin: Raphael was delighted. It was good to be helping each other. Best of all, it was good to be friends again.

Sonic's Chase

  • George Carlin: One morning, Kevin was waiting to pick up passengers from Ash Ketchum.
  • Kevin: Peep peep! We're late! Where is Ash? He doesn't usually make us wait.
  • Fireman: Oh dear, what can the matter be?
  • George Carlin: Sanged the fireman.
  • Fireman: Johnny's so longer...
  • Driver: Never you mind abot Johnny.
  • George Carlin: Laughed the driver.
  • Driver: Just you climb on the cab and look for Ash. Can you see him?
  • Fireman: No.
  • George Carlin: Replied the fireman.
  • Fireman: There's Sonic the Hedgehog in the terriying hurry. No need to bother with him though. Likely, he's on the coach tour of something.
  • George Carlin: He clambered down.
  • Sonic: Stop, stop! I've got Ash's passengers!
  • George Carlin: Wailed Sonic, roaring up to the gates. It was no good. Kevin was gone.
  • Sonic: Bother.
  • George Carlin: Said Sonic.
  • Sonic: Bother Ash's fireman not coming to work today. Why did I promise to help the visitors catch the train?
  • Driver: That will do, Sonic.
  • George Carlin: Said his driver.
  • Driver: A promise is a promise and we must keep it.
  • Sonic: I'll catch Kevin or bust.
  • George Carlin: Said Sonic.
  • Sonic: Oh, my gears and axles!
  • George Carlin: He groaned, toiling up the hill.
  • Sonic: I'll never be the same bus again. Hooray, hooray! I see him!
  • George Carlin: Cheered Sonic as he reached the top.
  • Sonic: Oh, no! Kevin's at the station! No, he stopped at the crossing. Hooray, hooray!
  • George Carlin: Sonic toured down the hill.
  • Passengers: Well done, Sonic!
  • George Carlin: Shouted his passengers.
  • Passengers: Go it!
  • George Carlin: Sonic skitted into the yard.
  • Sonic: Wait, wait!
  • George Carlin: Cried Sonic. He was just in time to see Kevin puffed away.
  • Sonic: I'm sorry.
  • George Carlin: Said Sonic.
  • Passengers: Never mind.
  • George Carlin: Said the passengers.
  • Passengers: After him quickly. Third time lucky you know. Do you think we'll catch em at the next station, driver?
  • Driver: There's a good chance.
  • George Carlin: Replied his driver.
  • Driver: Our road keeps close to the line and we can climb hills better than Kevin. I'll just make sure.
  • George Carlin: He spoke to the stationmaster. Sonic and the passengers waited impatiently.
  • Driver: Yes! We'll do it this time.
  • George Carlin: Said the driver.
  • Passengers: Hooray!
  • George Carlin: Called the passengers, as Sonic chased after Kevin once more.
  • Pets: This hill is too steep, this hill is too steep!
  • George Carlin: Grumbled the pets as Kevin snorted in front. They reach the top at last and ran smoothly into the station.
  • Kevin: Peep!
  • George Carlin: Whistled Kevin.
  • Kevin: Get in quickly please.
  • George Carlin: The conductor blew the whistle and Kevin's driver looked back. But the flag didn't wave, Then he heard Sonic. Everything seem to happy at once, and the stationmaster told the conductor and driver what had happened.
  • Kevin: I'm sorry about the chase, Sonic.
  • George Carlin: Said Kevin.
  • Sonic: My fault.
  • George Carlin: Replied Sonic.
  • Sonic: Late at junction. You didn't know about Ash's passengers.
  • Kevin: Peep peep! Goodbye, Sonic! We're off!
  • George Carlin: Whistled Kevin.
  • Passengers: Three cheers for Sonic!
  • George Carlin: Called the passengers. Sonic raced back to tell Ash that all was well.
  • Ash: Thank you, Sonic, for keeping your promise.
  • George Carlin: Said Ash.
  • Ash: You're a very good friend indeed.

Heroes

  • George Carlin: One morning, Bumpty and Raphael were busy at the Cartoon University, pushing and pulling Beedrill into their proper places. The twins are cheeky and love playing tricks. But they we're growing restless.
  • Raphael: Listen, Bumpty.
  • George Carlin: Said Raphael.
  • Raphael: Can you hear something?
  • Bumpty: What sort of something?
  • George Carlin: Asked Bumpty.
  • Raphael: Something different.
  • George Carlin: Replied Raphael.
  • Bumpty: I can't hear anything different.
  • George Carlin: Said Bumpty.
  • Raphael: Exactly.
  • George Carlin: Huffed Raphael.
  • Raphael: Everything is the same. Sounds the same, looks the same. What we need is a surprise.
  • Bumpty: Surprise what?
  • George Carlin: Asked Bumpty. Before Raphael could answer, the quarry master arrived.
  • Quarry Master: I have just received a message from Steven. He wants you to go to the station at the harbour.
  • Bumpty: I wonder what we've done this time.
  • George Carlin: Said Bumpty anxiously.
  • Raphael: It must be you.
  • George Carlin: Replied Raphael.
  • Bumpty: Why me?
  • George Carlin: Exclaimed Bumpty.
  • Bumpty: I've not done anything.
  • Steven: Kevin is taking the children on a special trip today. I want you to go to the station and look after Beedrill there.
  • Bumpty and Raphael: We'll do our best, sir.
  • George Carlin: Said the twins. Terry spoke severly to them.
  • Terry: You must behave here. You're on the main line now.
  • Raphael: Actually, Terry.
  • George Carlin: Giggled Raphael.
  • Raphael: When we saw you, we thought this was the scrapyard.
  • George Carlin: Terry was cross.
  • Terry: Just make sure that my coaches are ready for my evening train.
  • George Carlin: And he fumed away. The twins laughed and set to work.
  • Bumpty and Raphael: This was easy.
  • George Carlin: They said to each other.
  • Bumpty and Raphael: We know all about Beedrill.
  • George Carlin: But I'm afraid they didn't.
  • Beedrill: No need for that.
  • George Carlin: Shouted the Beedrill as the twins pushed them into place.
  • Beedrill: We'll show you around, we want to help.
  • Bumpty and Raphael: Thank you very much.
  • George Carlin: Said Bumpty and Raphael. The Beedrill giggled and began their tricks. Evening came. The yard was in a dreadful muddle. The twins had left the Beedrill tell them where to put things. Terry and the passengers waited impatiently outside the station while Bumpty and Raphael tried to sort things out. But by the time Terry was able to leave, it was very late indeed. Next day the twins were working at the quarry again.
  • Bumpty: That's a strange noise.
  • George Carlin: Gasped Bumpty.
  • Bumpty: I never heard a noise like that before.
  • Bumpty's Driver: I have.
  • George Carlin: Whispered his driver nervously.
  • Bumpty's Driver: It sounds like a rockslide to me.
  • (We hear a loud siren)
  • George Carlin: Then came the alarm.
  • Quarry Master: Danger! Clear the quarry!
  • George Carlin: Shouted the quarry master. Workmen scrambled into the Beedrill.
  • Bumpty and Raphael: Thank goodness we're here.
  • George Carlin: Said the twins. They were just puffing out of the quarry when...
  • Quarry Master: Help! Wait for me!
  • George Carlin: A workman had been left behind. Raphael waited as the man climbed quickly aboard. The twins left the quarry just in time.
  • (The avalanche buries the entire quarry completely)
  • George Carlin: Everyone was safe, but rubble lay all around.
  • Bumpty: Oh dear.
  • George Carlin: Said Bumpty.
  • Bumpty: This wasn't our fault. I hope Steven will understand.
  • George Carlin: And indeed, he did. Next day, he arrived with Kevin.
  • Steven: Bumpty and Raphael, you still had a lot to learn about Beedrill, don't you? But you acted quickly and bravely an emergency. So three cheers for Bumpty and Raphael our heroes. Hip hip, hooray, hooray, hooray!
  • Bumpty: Oh, thank you, Sir.
  • George Carlin: Said Bumpty.
  • Bumpty: Being called heroes, well, it's, it's...
  • Raphael: It's a really nice surprise.
  • George Carlin: Laughed Raphael.

Lance Alvers

  • George Carlin: It was a special holiday on the land of YTV. Sonic the Hedgehog was working harder than ever before. All the characters were busy too. Virgil was waiting for his next journey. Near him stood a bad guy. But he didn't look friendly like Sonic. The bad guy growled as he gazed at the happy passengers.
  • Lance: Stupid nonsense.
  • George Carlin: He grumbled.
  • Lance: I wouldn't have brought them if I've known. I did have a breakdown or something.
  • Virgil: I'm glad you didn't.
  • George Carlin: Smiled Virgil.
  • Virgil: You had spoiled their fun.
  • Lance: Bah! Enjoyment is all you characters lived for. One day railways will be ripped up.
  • George Carlin: Virgil felt shocked at such an idea.
  • Virgil: We have a friend called Sonic and he's a hedgehog. But he likes the railway. Sometimes he teases us about it, but he'd never want to see it ripped up.
  • Lance: Heh!
  • George Carlin: Growled the bad guy.
  • Lance: I know Sonic. He's too small in size to be in any use.
  • George Carlin: Virgil took no notice.
  • Virgil: That bus is silly.
  • George Carlin: He thought as he steamed away. At the junction, Virgil told Richie all about him.
  • Richie: I call him Lance.
  • George Carlin: Chuckled Richie and then he puffed happily away. But that afternoon when the two characters met again, Richie was no longer laughing.
  • Richie: Lance's friend had come.
  • George Carlin: He said.
  • Richie: He's rude too. He's taking Lance's passengers home and leaving Lance free to steal ours.
  • Virgil: But he can't.
  • George Carlin: Objected Virgil.
  • Richie: Lance says he can get them to the big station before us.
  • Virgil: Rubbish!
  • George Carlin: Replied Virgil.
  • Virgil: It's much farther by road.
  • Richie: Yeah.
  • George Carlin: Continued Richie.
  • Richie: But Lance says he knows a shortcut.
  • George Carlin: That evening, the characters were preparing for the homeward rush.
  • Virgil: Where are the passengers?
  • George Carlin: They wondered.
  • Richie: Look!
  • George Carlin: Shrilled Richie.
  • Richie: Look at Lance. He's a mean scarlet deciever.
  • George Carlin: Lance was wearing a large sign saying: Railway Bus.
  • Lance: Yaa boo snubs.
  • George Carlin: He jeered as he roared away.
  • Virgil: Come on.
  • George Carlin: Puffed Virgil to his coaches.
  • Virgil: Let's see what he's up to.
  • George Carlin: Virgil wanted to get back at Lance, but he wasn't sure how. Then in the distance, Virgil saw a man waving a red flag. That meant danger. The line here crosses a narrow road and there was Lance wedged firmly under the bridge.
  • Virgil: So this was his shortcut.
  • George Carlin: Chuckled Virgil.
  • Passengers: He tricked us.
  • George Carlin: Shouted Lance's passengers.
  • Passengers: He said he was a railway bus, but he wouldn't accept our return tickets. He wanted us to think railways are no good.
  • George Carlin: Virgil's crew examined the bridge.
  • Virgil's Crew: It's risky, but we must help the passengers.
  • Virgil: Passengers are urgent.
  • George Carlin: Agreed Virgil. Virgil slowly and carefully set off across the bridge. Lance wailed as he felt the bridge quiver.
  • Lance: (groaning) Stop!
  • George Carlin: He shouted.
  • Lance: It might fall on me.
  • Virgil: That would serve you right for telling lies.
  • George Carlin: Said Virgil. But the bridge didn't collapse. Virgil made good time and all the passengers caught their trains. The bridge is now mended, but not unfortunately Lance and his ways. He never learned sense. He's a henhouse and his lies can do no harm. The hens never listened to him anyway.

Wrong Road

  • George Carlin: Ash's route is important and so is Kevin's. But their tracks and bridges are not so strong as those on the main line. Steven does not allow the heavier main line engines like Terry to run on them. But one day, the way Terry was talking, he would have tought Steven had given this order for quite another reason.
  • Terry: It's not fair!
  • George Carlin: Grumbled Terry.
  • Kevin: What isn't fair?
  • George Carlin: Asked Kevin.
  • Terry: Letting branch line diesels pull main line trains.
  • Kevin: Never mind, Terry. I'm sure Donkey Kong will let you pull his Beedrill sometimes.
  • George Carlin: Terry spluttered.
  • Terry: I wont pull Donkey Kong's dirty Beedrill. I wont run on branch lines.
  • Kevin: Why not it will be a nice change.
  • Terry: Steven would never approve.
  • George Carlin: Huffed Terry.
  • Terry: Branch lines are vulgar.
  • George Carlin: Terry puffed away. Kevin chuckled and followed him to the station. Every evening the two characters pulled two fast trains from the station. Terry always leaves first with an express for the main line. Kevin follows five minutes later with his train for the branch line. Usually everything runs like clockwork. But tonight there was trouble. A Lady in a green floppy hat was saying goodbye to a friend. It was nearly time for Terry to start. The fireman looked back towards the conductor's van and saw something green waving.
  • Fireman: Right away, mate!
  • George Carlin: He thought the conductor had waved his flag. Terry started. Leaving luggage, his passengers and the conductor all standing on the platform. Everyone was very surprised and cross. To make matters worse, by the time Terry had been stopped and brought back, Kevin was already late with his train. So now, he set off first. But the signalman at the junction wasn't told about the change. By mistake, he sent Kevin along the main line. Terry was sent along the branch and arrived cold and cross on one of the sidings near the harbour. Next morning, Bumpty and Raphael peeped into the yard. There were no Beedrill for them but they didn't mind that. Teasing Terry will be much better fun.
  • Bumpty: What's that?
  • George Carlin: Asked Bumpty.
  • Raphael: Sheesh!
  • George Carlin: Whispered Raphael.
  • Raphael: It's Terry.
  • Bumpty: It looks like Terry, but it can't be. Terry never comes on the branch lines. He thinks they're vulgar.
  • George Carlin: Terry pretended he hadn't heard.
  • Raphael: If it isn't Terry.
  • George Carlin: Said Raphael.
  • Raphael: It's just a pile of Old Iron.
  • Bumpty: Which we better take it to the scrapyard.
  • Raphael: No Bumpty, this blocks used for scrap we'll take it to the harbour and dump it in the sea.
  • George Carlin: Terry was alarmed.
  • Terry: I am Terry. Stop, stop!
  • George Carlin: When Donkey Kong suddenly arrived, Terry thought him the most beautiful sight he had ever been.
  • Terry: Donkey Kong, my dear character, save me.
  • George Carlin: Donkey Kong quickly sized up the situation and threathened to take away the Beedrill he had brought for Bumpty and Raphael. This made the twin behave at once. Terry thought Donkey Kong was wonderful.
  • Terry: Those little demons. How do you do it?
  • Donkey Kong: Ah well.
  • George Carlin: Said Donkey Kong.
  • Donkey Kong: It's just a knack.
  • George Carlin: Terry still believed that Donkey Kong saved his life. But he knows the twins were only teasing. Don't we?

Alex, Raimundo and The Fruitful Day

  • George Carlin: It was a splendid morning on the land of YTV. Raimundo was feeling very pleased with himself. His red paint gleamed in the sunshine as he sped along the line. He reached the junction just as Alex puffed in with some Beedrill. Raimundo was surprised to see him.
  • Raimundo: What are you doing here, Alex? You should be at the station by now.
  • Alex: I know.
  • George Carlin: Sighed Alex.
  • Alex: These Beedrill had been troublesome all morning.
  • Raimundo: That's no excuse, Alex. Nothing should stop us. Steven relies on us to be on time. Now if you excuse me, I'll be on my way.
  • George Carlin: And Raimundo puffed importantly away.
  • Alex: Bossy buffers.
  • George Carlin: Muttered Alex. Raimundo arrived at the harbour. It was market day. The harbour yard was filled with the sweet smell of fruits from far away lands. The fruit was delivered in big ships. Raimundo watched as strawberries, oranges, melons and bananas were carefully loaded onto his Beedrill. Then, he set off for the station on the main line. On the way, he met Ash.
  • Raimundo: Really reliable, that's me!
  • George Carlin: Panted Raimundo.
  • Raimundo: Pity the same can't be sent for Alex. Goodbye!
  • Suzy and Pietra: What was all that about?
  • George Carlin: Gasped Suzy and Pietra.
  • Ash: That was trouble. Trouble for Raimundo, just wait and see.
  • George Carlin: Alex was back in the yard and busy shunting. He had the Beedrill in good order and was making up for lost time. But the stationmaster had bad news.
  • Driver: What's happened?
  • George Carlin: Asked Alex's Driver.
  • Stationmaster: Raimundo's brakes have jammed we need Alex's help right away.
  • George Carlin: Alex quickly set off to the rescue. Raimundo was stuck on the line and looking glum. Alex couldn't help laughing.
  • Alex: Got yourself in a bit of a jam eh, Raimundo, a sticky situation?
  • Raimundo: Be quiet! It's not funny having jammed brakes.
  • Alex: And not very reliable either. I'm surprised you let it happen, Raimundo. Nothing should stop us characters.
  • Driver: That's enough, Alex.
  • George Carlin: Said the driver.
  • Driver: Can you push these Beedrill?
  • Alex: Of course I can. There's no time to lose. Raimundo has done too much of that already.
  • George Carlin: Raimundo angrily hissed steam as Alex was coupled to the Beedrill.
  • Alex: Off we go!
  • George Carlin: Said Alex.
  • Alex: I'll have to go fast to get there in time. Those big characters are so unreliable.
  • Driver: Be careful, Alex.
  • George Carlin: Called his driver. But Alex was in a hurry. He didn't see that the switch had failed and that he had been diverted into a siding.
  • Driver: Look out, Alex!
  • George Carlin: Shouted his driver and applied the brakes, but it was too late.
  • (Alex crashes into the van)
  • George Carlin: The driver and fireman had jumped clear but squash fruit squirted all over Alex.
  • (The squash fruit covers Alex completely)
  • George Carlin: Steven arrived.
  • Steven: Alex, you were not to blame for the switch failure. But I do not run a jam factory.
  • Alex: Yes sir, uh, no sir.
  • George Carlin: And Alex squelched sadly away. That night, the shed was silent. Raimundo and Alex felt very sorry for themselves. At last, Ash spoke.
  • Ash: You know...
  • George Carlin: He said to no character in particular.
  • Ash: There's more than one way to get jammed. We all learned that today.
  • George Carlin: Still there were silence.
  • Ash: What's more, we also learned that sometimes when characters helped each other out of a jam, things can still go wrong.
