Narrator: "Red Max was enjoying his life on Wacky Races Land, but he still had a lot to learn."
Announcer: "You're a special mixed traffic pilot."
Narrator: "Said The Announcer."
Announcer: "You can pull Log Cars or Alligators quite easily, but you must learn by your mistakes."
Narrator: "Red Max knew what The Announcer Meant. He could well remember that dreadful accident on his first day."
Peter Perfect: "Be careful with the Log Cars, Red Max."
Narrator: "Said kind little Peter."
Peter Perfect: "They don't like being bumped."
Narrator: "Everyone came to admire Red Max."
Red Max: "I'm a really splendid pilot."
Narrator: "He thought, and suddenly started up the Crimson Haybailer. A shower of water fell on the Announcer's nice new megaphone.
Just then, the animator blew the whistle, and Red Max thought they had better go."
Red Max: "Come on! Come on!"
Narrator: "He called to Peter."
Peter Perfect: "Don't push! Don't push!"
Narrator: "Replied Peter.
The Log Cars were grumbling, too."
Log Cars: "Don't go so fast! Don't go so fast!
Narrator: "But Red Max didn't listen.
When at last, they reached the top station, two log cars were beyond the platform. They had to go back to let the passengers out. But no one seemed to know about The Announcer's new megaphone, so Red Max felt happier.
Presently, they came to the station where Sawtooth was waiting with his two log cars."
Sawtooth: "Hello, Red Max."
Narrator: "Said Sawtooth."
Sawtooth: "Feeling better? That's right.
Oh, that's my animator's whistle. I must go. I don't know what The Announcer would do without me to run this race track."
Narrator: "And he puffed off importantly.
Peter and Red Max passed the field where Red Max had had his accident. The fence was mended and the cows were back again.
They ended their journey, and rested before setting off for home. Re Max was still wondering what The Announcer would have to say about his nice new megaphone.
Next day, The Announcer spoke severely to Red Max
Announcer: "If you can't behave, I shall take away your Crimson Haybailer and have it painted blue."
Narrator: "Red Max didn't like that at all.
He was very rough with the grumbling Log Cars as he brought them to the platform."
Red Max: "Don't talk! Come on!"
Narrator: "He called to them."
Red Max: "Rufus never has to fetch his own log cars,"
Narrator: "He thought to himself."
Red Max: "And he only drives a brown car."
Narrator: "To make Red Max even more cross, this time, no one came near him."
Red Max: "I'll show them!"
Narrator: "He thought.
Red Max: "They think Rufus is the only racer who can pull Log Cars.
Hurry, hurry, hurry!"
Narrator: "Puffed Red Max."
Log Cars: "You're going too fast! You're going too fast!"
Narrator: "Replied the Log Cars.
Red Max laughed and tried to go faster, but the Log Cars wouldn't let him."
Log Cars: "We're going to stop."
Narrator: "They said."
Log Cars: "We're going to stop."
Red Max: "What's the matter?"
Narrator: "Red Max asked his animator."
Red Max's First animator: "The Log Cars are hard on. Leak in the pipe, most likely. You've banged the Log Cars hard enough to make a rip in anything."
Red Max's Second Animator: "How shall we mend it?"
Narrator: "Said the second animator."
Red Max's First Animator: "We'll do it with newspaper and a leather bootlace."
Narrator: "Replied the first animator."
Red Max's Second Animator: "Well, where is the bootlace coming from?"
Narrator: "Asked the second animator: "
Red Max's First Animator: "Ask the passengers."
Narrator: "Said the first animator."
Red Max's Second Animator: "You have a leather bootlace there, I see, sir."
Narrator: "Said the second animator to Sheriff Sam, a smartly dressed man."
Red Max's Second Animator: " Please give it to me."
Sheriff Sam: "I won't."
Narrator: "Said Sheriff Sam."
Red Max's Second Animator: "Then,"
Narrator: "Said the second animator,"
Red Max's Second Animator: "I'm afraid we'll all have to stay where we are.
Narrator: "The passengers all said what a bad race track it was, then they told Sheriff Sam how bad he was instead. Everyone was very cross.
At last, he handed his laces over.
The first animator tied a pad of newspaper tightly around the hole in the brake pipe, and Red Max was able to take the Log Cars.
But he was a sadder and wiser Red Max, and took care never to bump log cars again."
