Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith Chapter XIV: Seeds of Distrust

Seeds of Distrust

Padmé's observation that "this war represents a failure to listen" has actually already been spoken three years earlier by the character Mira in Jedi: Mace Windu. A Jedi disillusioned with the Order's increasingly militaristic action against the Separatists, Mira speaks these exact words to Mace Windu on the moon Ruul. She was later killed by Asajj Ventress. Whether Mira's line inspired Padmé's, or whether this is simply coincidence, is unknown.

Technically, there never was a time like the one Padmé reminisces about here; their love was only declared on Geonosis, and the next time they stayed on Naboo, the Clone Wars had already broken out. Politics and plotting were also highly prevailant in the stories of both previous episodes.
