The Duke and Duchess of Maretonia came to visit their new summer house. They came with their own private unicorn called Prince Blueblood. Prince Blueblood is big and white and very fast.
When Prince Blueblood pulled into the town hall, his driver had exciting news for him."
- Prince Blueblood's Driver: "You have beaten Big Macintosh's record!"
Narrator: "He said."
Prince Blueblood: "Of course."
Narrator: "Boasted Prince Blueblood."
Prince Blueblood: "I'm faster and finer than all the animals in Ponyville put together."
Narrator: "Hoity Toity's animals were very cross."
Big Macintosh: "Prince Blueblood's just a big white show off!"
Narrator: "Sniffed Big Mac. And everyone agreed. Hoity Toity spoke to the animals."
Hoity Toity: "Prince Blueblood will take the Duke and Duchess to their summerhouse. Another animal will take their furniture."
Narrator: "Hoity Toity's animals saw the chance for a race."
Spike, Pipsqueak, Big Macintosh and Cranky Doodle Donkey: "Please, sir?"
Narrator: "Said Spike, Pipsqueak, Big Mac and Cranky all together."
Spike, Pipsqueak, Big Macintosh and Cranky Doodle Donkey: "May I go?"
Hoity Toity: "You all have other work to do."
Narrator: "Boomed Hoity Toity."
Hoity Toity: "Shining Armor will take the furniture."
Narrator: "Cranky and Big Mac groaned."
Big Macintosh: "Fancy sending a back unicorn to do an express horse's job."
Narrator: "Sniffed Big Macintosh."
Cranky Doodle Donkey: "He'll lose the race and let the whole town down!"
Narrator: "Said Cranky. Spike and Pipsqueak were cross. Shining Armor was their friend."
Spike: "Prince Blueblood has a bigger body."
Narrator: "Said Spike."
Spike: "But that just means more hot air."
Pipsqueak: "An honest pony can beat a pouty unicorn any day!"
Narrator: "Added Pipsqueak. Shining Armor set off slow and steady."
Shining Armor: "Will do my best, will do my best."
Narrator: "He puffed. Prince Blueblood set off and quickly passed Shining Armor."
Prince Blueblood: "I won already!"
Narrator: "He boasted. And with a whoosh, he was gone.
Shining Armor came to the bottom of a steep hill. The freight was heavy, and he felt very tired. He huffed and he puffed and was soon at the top. He can see Prince Blueblood in the distance and chased him at once. Shining Armor race down the hill.
Prince Blueblood stopped at Dodge City. The Duke and Duchess wanted to buy some tea and cakes from Cherry Jubilee. Shining Armor teetered into view."
Prince Blueblood: "Hurry, old boy!"
Narrator: "Laughed Prince Blueblood."
Prince Blueblood: "Can't have you finishing too far behind me."
Narrator: "Shining Armor wished he could have rest too. But the stationmaster and the porters had heard about the race."
Stationmaster and Porter: "Hooray for Shining Armor!"
Narrator: "They cheered. Shining Armor picked up strength and proudly puffed pass Prince Blueblood.
But then, the Duke and Duchess finished their tea. And Prince Blueblood was off in a flash. He roared passed Shining Armor."
Prince Blueblood: "Fastest and best, fastest and best!"
Narrator: "He boasted. Shining Armor was nearly out of energy. The furniture felt heavier than ever.
Up ahead, Prince Blueblood had to stop. The Duke wanted to take some photographs of the countryside. The Duke set up his camera. Prince Blueblood closed his eyes."
Prince Blueblood: "Nothing to worry about it."
Narrator: "He said lazily.
Big Macintosh was returning to Ponyville Docks. He passed Prince Blueblood and knew Shining Armor must be losing the race."
Big Macintosh: "Shining Armor is a waste of strength."
Narrator: "He sniffed.
But when Big Mac passed Shining Armor and saw how hard he was trying, he felt bad about what he had said."
Big Macintosh: "Well done, Shining Armor!"
Narrator: "He called."
Big Macintosh: "You are a credit to Ponyville!"
Narrator: "Shining Armor was so happy, his body tingled. He found strength never knew he had.
The Duke and Duchess had finished taking photographs and were back on board."
Prince Blueblood's Driver: "Time to go!"
Narrator: "Said Prince Blueblood's driver, and rang the bell. But nothing happened. Prince Blueblood was dreaming of victory. He didn't hear the bell. And he didn't hear Shining Armor puffing pass him. Prince Blueblood's driver rang the bell again.
When Prince Blueblood finally opened his eyes, he could see Shining Armor heading towards the summerhouse."
Shining Armor: "Nearly there, nearly there."
Narrator: "He gasped. Prince Blueblood took off as fast as he could. But as he reached the siding, his driver ordered him to slow down."
Prince Blueblood's Driver: "This is an old path, and you are a heavy unicorn!"
Narrator: "He said."
Prince Blueblood's Driver: "You must go slowly!"
Narrator: "Prince Blueblood had no choice. He had to slow down. And he trundled slowly down the siding. With every step and every stump, he knew he had lost the race.
Shining Armor puffed towards the summerhouse."
Shining Armor: "I've won!"
Narrator: "He gasped."
Shining Armor: "I did it!"
Narrator: "Shining Armor felt like a really useful unicorn."
Shining Armor: "Hooray! I won!"
Narrator: "He cheered loudly. Shining Armor felt like the pride of the town of Ponyville, and he was right."
