Orson (from Garfield & Friends) as Thomas's Driver
George Carlin as The Narrator
George Carlin: RS Mr. Conductor was feeling very happy. His blue suit shone in the sun, he was right on time, and all around his route the countryside seemed prettier than ever before.
RS Mr. Conductor: Good morning, GC Mr. Conductor.
George Carlin: He said.
RS Mr. Conductor: My route is the pride of Shining Time. Wouldn’t you agree?
GC Mr. Conductor: Uh…yes, RS Mr. Conductor, of course, but, uh…
RS Mr. Conductor: But what, GC Mr. Conductor? Out with it.
GC Mr. Conductor: Well, there is another person with a famous route too.
RS Mr. Conductor: Who? Where?
GC Mr. Conductor: His name is Amazo the Great. He’s far away. But JB King says he may visit us.
RS Mr. Conductor: When?
GC Mr. Conductor: Oh, someday.
George Carlin: And GC Mr. Conductor hurried away. Meanwhile, Amazo was driving steadily along his route. It isn’t very long, and that made him feel a little sad. Later he saw Tito. The piano player who had helped saved Amazo from death.
Amazo: Everyone’s been so kind. But my route is so short, and I do miss a good long run.
Tito Swing: I think you should tell Sea Rogue too.
George Carlin: Replied Tito.
Tito Swing: I’m sure he’ll understand.
George Carlin: Amazo soon discovered that indeed he did.
Sea Rogue: Do you know, Amazo? I feel just the same way.
George Carlin: That evening, he had exciting news.
Sea Rogue: Guess what, Amazo? JB King has invited us to visit the other people in Shining Time. Manager agreed. It’ll be a really long run to get there.
Amazo: Oh, thank you!
George Carlin: Sighed Amazo. They set off next morning. By now, all the people were talking about Amazo.
GC Mr. Conductor: He drives a famous route. Did you know that?
George Carlin: Said GC Mr. Conductor. RS Mr. Conductor was feeling a little jealous.
RS Mr. Conductor: Huh! It may be famous, but my route is the first in town. Everyone knows that too.
George Carlin: And he went away to do some work.
GC Mr. Conductor: Look!
George Carlin: Squeaked GC Mr. Conductor.
GC Mr. Conductor: Why have they all come? Nobody’s here yet.
George Carlin: But GC Mr. Conductor was wrong. The light turned green. And from far away, a car horn honked.
Carl: Here he comes!
George Carlin: Yelled Carl. Amazo drove proudly down Main Street.
Mr. Nicholas: I hope you meet RS Mr. Conductor too.
George Carlin: Said Mr. Nicholas.
Mr. Nicholas: You both have routes to be proud of.
George Carlin: Then Amazo set off to help Matt with some work, and they worked happily together all afternoon. At last, RS Mr. Conductor arrived.
RS Mr. Conductor: Sorry. Can’t talk. It’s time for my last delivery. Mustn’t be late.
George Carlin: He was hardly out of sight when Amazo and Matt heard shouting nearby. Moments later came the alarm.
Manager: Stop all deliveries!
George Carlin: Arthur answered the telephone.
Arthur: A special, is it? I see.
George Carlin: RS Mr. Conductor was impatient.
RS Mr. Conductor: Why are we waiting? My delivery is being delayed.
Orson: Sorry, RS Mr. Conductor.
George Carlin: Said Orson.
Orson: We’re being stopped to allow another person to pass.
George Carlin: Soon they saw an unfamiliar sight. There was Amazo with headlights swaying and horn tooting. He gathered speed and disappeared.
RS Mr. Conductor: Well bust my stomache!
George Carlin: Said RS Mr. Conductor the Narrator. Next day he was still fuming.
RS Mr. Conductor: Stopped. And on my own route too. It’s a disgrace!
Amazo: I’m sorry.
George Carlin: Said Amazo.
Amazo: I was a special.
RS Mr. Conductor: Why?
Amazo: An important person arrived just as you left. He ordered a special load and Matt let me take it. It was a splendid run, but…
RS Mr. Conductor: But…
George Carlin: Finished RS Mr. Conductor.
RS Mr. Conductor: It can make someone nervous not to know the route.
George Carlin: Said Amazo.
Amazo: You’re such an expert.
George Carlin: RS Mr. Conductor felt much better. He couldn’t be cross anymore, and began telling Amazo all about his route.
