SmashTV Presents: The Joker Games is a by Seth MacFarlane and is the seventh installment of the SmashTV Presents series franchise. It was released on August 4th 2017 in 3D and IMAX 3D formats to positive reviews and box office success.

The film was dedicated to Adam West (who cameos in the movie as Judge West), who died on June 9 2017.

  • Eden Sher as Barbara "Everdeen" Gordon (Katniss Everdeen):
    • A fierce and independent vigilante and main protagonist who later becomes Batgirl at the end of the film to fight crime alongside Batman. Her weapons include a Bow-And-Arrow and her Magic Wand. She is the founder of the alliance to kill the Joker and end the Joker Games once and for all.
  • Michael Cera as Peeta Grayson (Peeta Mellark):
    • The first son of the Grayson family, secondary protagonist, and Barbara's love interest who later becomes Robin at the end of the film to fight crime alongside Batman. His weapons include a staff he carries during battle. He is the co-founder of the alliance to kill the Joker and end the Joker Games once and for all. Cera reprises his role as Robin from The Lego Batman Movie.

PRODUCTION

MacFarlane announced in May 2016 that filming will begin after Hamill finishes filming Star Wars Episode 8.

Filming began in August 2016 and wrapped in January 2017.

MARKETING

Seth MacFarlane announced on his Twitter account that the first trailer will be released in December and attached to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. It will be part of a combo trailer with Transformers: The Last Knight.

The first trailer was shown on December 13 2016 during a new episode of Sweet/Vicious on MTV, and was released online shortly after. On March 10 2017, a new trailer was shown during the 2017 SmashTV Awards (along with several other upcoming SmashTV Presents films as part of a presentation reel shown at the ceremony) and was attached to Ghost In The Shell in theaters afterwards. A newer trailer was attached to Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 ​on May 5 2017 and was then shown at the MTV Movie And TV Awards 2 days later.

RECEPTION

The film screened at Annecy Film Festival 2017, and has received postive reviews, holding a certified fresh 86% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
