The play concerns a paranoid preacher of indetermiante Christian denomination named Reverend Eddie. He is assisted by Brother Lawrence, who serves as the handyman of their run-down church, as well as caregiver and confidant to Eddie.
While Eddie is concerned about the machinations of the Illuminati, who he believes are trying to drive him crazy and take over the world, Lawrence's worries revolve around taking care of the Reverend, making his way to heaven, and concern over animals (perhaps a small dog, large rat, or average-sized otter) crawling into the power generator.
It was first performed at the Nexus Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia on 1 November 1981 starring Lee as Reverend Eddie and Larson as Brother Lawrence.
It was later produced at the Actors Theatre of Louisville's Humana Festival in 1986, again starring Lee and Larson.
