Knuckles and Sam Speed, retitled Knuckles gets Tricked for American audiences, is the first episode of Knuckles the Echidna and Friends. It is a parody of the Thomas and Friends episode, Thomas and Gordon/Thomas gets Tricked.

Transcript[]
Narrator: "Knuckles is a echidna who lives at a big station on Mobius. He is a cheeky little echidna, with two sneakers, two small ears, a tail, and a black noes.
He's a fussy little echidna, too. Always bringing flckies about, ready for the bigger sonic characters to take on long journeys.
And when sonic characters come in, he brings the flickies back home so that the sonic characters can go and rest.
Knuckles thinks no sonic character works as hard as he does. He loves playing tricks on them, including Sam Speed, the biggest and proudest racer of them all. Knuckles likes whistling rudely at him."
Knuckles: "Wake up, lazy bones! Why don't you work hard, like me?"
Narrator: "One day, after taking the flickies on a journey, Sam Speed arrived back at the altar, very tired. He was just going to sleep when Knuckles came up in his cheeky way."
Knuckles: "Wake up, lazy bones, do some hard work for a change! You can't catch me!"
Narrator: "And off he ran, laughing.
Instead of going to sleep again, Sam Speed thought how he could get back at Knuckles.
One Morning, Knuckles wouldn't wake up. His first animator and second animator couldn't make him start. His stamina was low and there was not enough strength. It was nearly time for the express. People were waiting, but the flickies weren't ready.
At last, Knuckles started."
Knuckles: "Oh, dear, oh, dear!"
Narrator: "He yawned.
He fussed into the station, where Sam Speed was waiting."
Sam Speed: "Hurry up, you."
Narrator: "Said Sam Speed."
Knuckles: "Hurry yourself!"
Narrator: "Replied Knuckles."
Narrator: "Sam Speed began making a plan."
Sam Speed: "Yes,"
Narrator: "Said Sam Speed,"
Sam Speed: "I will."
Narrator: "And almost before the flickies stopped moving, Sam Speed reversed quickly and was shield."
Sam Speed: "Get in quickly, please."
Narrator: "He whistled.
Knuckles usually pushed behind the flickies to help them start, but he was always unshield first. This time, Sam Speed started so quickly, they forgot to unshield Knuckles. Sam Speed's chance had come."
Sam Speed: "Come on, come on,"
Narrator: "Puffed Sam Speed to the flickies.
The line went faster and faster. Too fast for Knuckles. He wanted to stop, but he couldn't!"
Knuckles: "Hey, hey! Stop, stop!"
Sam Speed: "Hurry, hurry, hurry!"
Narrator: "Laughed Sam Speed."
Flickies: "You can't get away, you can't get away!"
Narrator: "Laughed the flickies.
Poor Knuckles was going faster than he had ever gone before. He was out of breath, and his sneakers hurt him, but he had to go on."
Knuckles: "I'll shall never be the same again."
Narrator: "He thought sadly."
Knuckles: "My sneakers will quite worn out."
Narrator: "At last, they stopped at a station.
Knuckles was unshield, and he felt very silly and exhausted.
Next, he sat on a turntable, thinking of everyone laughing at him.
And then he ran on to a path, out of the way."
Sam Speed: "Well, little Knuckles,"
Narrator: "Chuckled Sam Speed."
Sam Speed: "Now you know what hard work means, don't you?"
Narrator: "Poor Knuckles couldn't anwser. He had no breath. He just puff slowly away to rest, and had a long, long drink.
He went home very slowly, and was careful afterwards never to be cheeky to Sam Speed again."
