If you need to hit multiple targets but you can' wait for them to align themselves, Spreader is for you. Not only will it hit the target, it will hit all surrounding panels as well, allowing it to potentially do as much as 270 damage (theoretically 90, seeing as there are only three enemies on screen at a time). Spreader also has the benefit of being a part of the Program Advances Z-Spread (formed by three Spreader chips), O-Spread (formed by five chips), and Powered Cannon? (formed with Shotgun, CrossGun, and M-Cannon).
Like the other Shotgun chips, Spreader hits more than the target the "main bullet" strikes. In fact, the explosion hits all surrounding panels, striking all nine panels for 30 damage.
