Super Rescue is a fan-fiction episode of Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends. It first was released in the 1988 fan-fiction UK video "Super Rescue and Other Stories".

Plot

Two diesels, 7101 and 199, arrive. 7101 is friendly, but 199 is rude, saying diesels are more reliable than steam engines. Later, Henry is riding home tender-first, his regulator jammed, and meets 199 with a train of oil-tankers at a signalbox. 199, ironically, has failed, and so does 7101 after his ejector leaks and he is unable to pull his passenger train. Henry, with some help from 7101, still able to move, bravely takes 199, the oil-tankers and the passengers to the next station. Duck to the delight of the passengers, takes the passenger train, while Donald takes the goods. 199 is sent away in disgrace and Henry helps 7101 to the shed.

Transcript

US version

  • Ringo Starr: One day, the two new diesels survay the shed. One was 7101, and the other 199.
  • 199: It's about time!
  • Ringo Starr: Said 199.
  • 199: That we took this railway over, 7101!
  • 7101: Shh! It's their railway after all!
  • 199: Not for long!
  • Ringo Starr: Assisted 199.
  • 199: Our manager says steam engines spoil our important ways!
  • Duck: Of course we do!
  • Ringo Starr: Snapped Duck.
  • Duck: We show how friends we are! Calling yourselves engines, if anything happens, you care nothing for your train! You just moan for a fitter! We bring it home! Even on one cylinder!
  • 199: Nothing!
  • Ringo Starr: Boasted 199.
  • 199: Even happens to us! We are reliable!
  • Ringo Starr: A lot of noises ignored this.
  • 199: How rude!
  • 7101: You asked for it!
  • Ringo Starr: Snapped 7101.
  • 7101: Now, shut up!
  • Ringo Starr: The next day, Henry was rolling home tender first.
  • Henry: I'm a failed engine.
  • Ringo Starr: He moaned.
  • Henry: I lost my regulator. Driver said it jammed wide open. He can't mend it. However, I still got plenty of steam. Driver said he will use my reverser, but it would happen after those diesels came. Now they'll laugh at me.
  • Ringo Starr: He reached the signal box and stopped, whistling for a road. Up stood on the box, on the outline, stood 199 with a train of oil tankers.
  • Henry: More worse and worse!
  • Ringo Starr: Thought Henry.
  • Henry: Now Old Realiable will laugh at me too!
  • Ringo Starr: The signalman came out.
