Do not be scared off by the penalties imposed by this Ranger kit. The Strength penalty can be negated by various Strength boosting items, the armour restriction is a minor annoyance and the weapon restriction is fairly irrelevant. What remains is a Ranger with the spellcasting ability of an Inquisitor, very low Weapon Speed (great for spell interruption) and 4 additional powerful spells. Even in BGTutu this class is useful, you can focus on archery while getting True Sight around the time you will need it.

The Sylvan Mystics are an ancient order of Elven and Half-Elven Rangers in Faerun. They specialize in hunting evil mages and mind flayers, and as such they must attune their mind in addition to their body.

- +1 Armor Class
- +1 Damage and THAC0
- -1 Weapon Speed every 5 levels
- Dispel Magic once per 6 levels
- True Sight once per 6 levels
- Chaotic Commands once per 9 levels
- Iron Skins once per 9 levels
- Aura of Flaming Death at level 21
- Summon Deva at level 23

- Half-Elf or Elf kit only
- Must be Lawful Good or Neutral Good
- No Charm Animal
- Can only use bows and bladed weapons
- Can not wear armor heavier than chain mail
- -5 Strength (8 to 13)
- -4 Constitution (10 to 13/14)
- Requires 14 Intelligence
