Transcript

  • George Carlin and Ringo Starr: Puffa is train who lives at a dockside in Bigg City Port. He's a cheeky train with six small wheels, a tall funnel, a cowcatcher and grey paint. He's a fussy train too. Always moving barges about ready for the big TV characters to take on long journeys. And when they come in, He takes the barges away so that the big characters can go and rest. Puffa thinks no one works as hard as he does. He loves playing tricks on them. Including Garfield, the biggest and proudest character of all. Puffa likes to tease Garfield with his whistle. (Puffa likes whistling rudely at him)
  • Puffa: Wake up, lazybones! Why don't you work hard like me?
  • George Carlin and Ringo Starr: One day, after driving his car, Garfield arrived back at home very tired. He was just going to sleep when Puffa came up in his cheeky way.
  • Puffa: Wake up, lazybones! Do some hard work for change! You can't catch me!
  • George Carlin and Ringo Starr: And off he ran laughing. Instead of going to sleep again, Garfield thought how he could get back at Puffa. One morning, Puffa wouldn't wake. His driver and fireman couldn't make him start. His water was low and there was not enough steam. It was nearly time for the express. People were waiting, but the barges weren't ready. At last, Puffa started.
  • Puffa: Oh dear! Oh dear!
  • George Carlin and Ringo Starr: He yawned. He fussed into the station where Garfield was waiting.
  • Garfield: Hurry up you!
  • George Carlin and Ringo Starr: Said Garfield.
  • Puffa: Hurry yourself!
  • George Carlin and Ringo Starr: Replied Puffa. Garfield began making his plan to teach Puffa a lesson for teasing him. (Garfield began making his plan)
  • Garfield: Yes.
  • George Carlin and Ringo Starr: Said Garfield.
  • Garfield: I will.
  • George Carlin and Ringo Starr: And almost before the barges had stopped moving, Garfield reverse quickly was ready.
  • Garfield: Get in quickly please.
  • George Carlin and Ringo Starr: He said. (Garfield toots his horn) Puffa usually pushed behind to help start, but he was always unhooked first. This time, Garfield started so quickly that they forgot to unhook Puffa. Garfield's chance had come.
  • Garfield: Come on, come on.
  • George Carlin and Ringo Starr: Said Garfield to the barges. The express went faster and faster. Too fast for Puffa. He wanted to stop, but he couldn't.
  • Puffa: (blows his whistle) Peep! Peep! Stop! Stop!
  • Garfield: Hurry, hurry, hurry!
  • George Carlin and Ringo Starr: Laughed Garfield.
  • Puppies and Barges: You can't get away! You can't get away!
  • George Carlin and Ringo Starr: Laughed the barges. Poor Puffa was going faster than he had ever gone before. He was out of breath and his wheels hurt him, but he had to go on.
  • Puffa: I shall never be the same again.
  • George Carlin and Ringo Starr: He thought sadly.
  • Puffa: My wheels shall be quite worn out.
  • George Carlin and Ringo Starr: At last, they stopped at a station. Puffa was unhooked. And he felt very silly and exhausted. Next, he went onto a turntable thinking of everyone laughing at him. And then he went out of the way.
  • Garfield: Well, little Puffa.
  • George Carlin and Ringo Starr: Chuckled Garfield.
  • Garfield: Now you know what hard work means. Don't you?
  • George Carlin and Ringo Starr: Poor Puffa couldn't answer. He had no breath. He just puffed slowly away to rest and had a long, long drink.
  • Puffa: Maybe I don't have to tease Garfield to feel important.
  • George Carlin and Ringo Starr: Puffa thought to himself, then went home very slowly, and was careful afterwards never to be cheeky to Garfield again.
